Nothing says "I'll go anywhere" quite like a Jeep CJ7 especially one with substantial upgrades under the skin. More power more suspension and a full cosmetic makeover make this 1984 Jeep CJ7 the ultimate way to get dirty. It might just be the most recognizable automobile in the entire world. It has been on every continent and crossed the most forbidding land in the world. Even more than 40 years after it arrived on the scene the evergreen Jeep kept its rugged good looks. Someone has kept up with this one restoring it as-needed over the course of its three decades. CJ7s were notorious for rusting particularly around the rear of the body but this one was spared that fate thanks to a lifetime someplace warm and amazingly it's never needed a full restoration. The burgundy paint isn't perfect but it is nice enough that you'll probably think twice about plunging into the brush with it and you'll definitely have the hardware to get wherever you need to go. Accessories include chrome bumpers and grille tubular steps plus a hardtop and color-matched doors that make it truly an all-weather warrior. WWII GIs would have killed for an interior like this in their Jeeps but it remains simple and durable in the best off-roading tradition. New black bucket seats look expensive and upscale gripping you tightly when you're rocking around in the dirt. The dash has been painted in the same burgundy paint as the body with all the original gauges reinstalled so it has a custom look that's all Jeep. Shockingly this Jeep also offers an adjustable Air Ride suspension with gauges an AM/FM/CD stereo system and an aftermarket center console so it's hardly a hardship to drive it daily. Black rubber mats and matching roll bar padding give it a go-anywhere feel and there's no denying that it's still basic and rugged. Much of the switch gear and the door panels are original and showing some age but again their condition suggests it's been well maintained. Mechanically this Jeep is virtually invincible. Many Jeepers prefer the 4.2 liter inline-six powerplant which is torquey and as reliable as a hammer. It was all rebuilt a few years ago but maintained a very traditional setup ever since and even the carburetor still runs its mechanical choke setup. The engine bay is tidy and doesn't look like it's been submerged or driven in the really abrasive stuff like many other Jeeps and there are plenty of signs that someone loved this CJ. That Air Ride suspension I mentioned works in conjunction with a 2-inch body lift and gives the suspension a little extra clearance when it's needed. The 4-speed manual transmission hooks to a 2-speed transfer case and heavy-duty axles so it's certainly equipped to go into the rough stuff without a complaint. New shocks a fresh gas tank and a correct original-style single exhaust system all ensure reliability and a modicum of comfort anywhere you go. Handsome 15-inch aluminum wheels wear big 37x12.50-15 off-road tires that look so cool that you should keep them even if you never plan on going off the pavement. If you like playing in the dirt this CJ7 is the right tool for the job. And even if you don't it has the right look and plenty of comfort to drive every day. Call now!
