Long history as an SCCA regional racer, converted for vintage racing durign the 1980s, race extensively and successfully with the VSCCA ..., 5 hours on a professionally rebuilt, highly modified 948cc BMC race engine. Forged high compression pistons, Carrillo steel con rods, lightened flywheel, race cam, balanced, twin SUs (as per VSCCA requirements), tubular headers, solid state ignition, MSD rev limiter, gas flowed big valve head, all new valves and guides, springs, etc., Straight cut, close ratio racing 'dogbox' transmission, 5.14 diff radio (others readily available from 3.7 to 4.88), VSCCA legal Hallibrand alloy wheels, Dunlops race tires, dual circuit brakes, brakes just rebuilt, halon fire system, roll bar with side bars, new shocks, extra instruments (including two exhaust temperature gauges...nice touch), fairly new ATL fuel cell, oil cooler, remote oil filter, Accusump oiling system, excellent fiberglass body with alloy doors, just repainted in red, Aeroquip oil lines, excellent chassis and inner panels, swar bar, rod ends replacing tie rod ends, on and on. A GREAT little race car...fast, competititve in its class, a great history, easy to drive, and a snap to repair and maintain., Just consider this only 670 Turners were ever built YET you could take a beat up SCCA H Production Sprite (rolled into a ball against an FIA barrier) and use every single part in this rare Tunrer. Which has the advtange of a better chassis, better location of the back axle, much lighter, and, well, a neat car., A small fortune went into the preparation and the result is a ready to race vintage racer., Competitive lap times? Have seen an identical car with similar level of prep work turn 1:08 at Lime Rock and, hey, 1:08 for a drum braked, 948cc production vintage racer is FLYING. Especially when you consider that for a long time, maybe 30 years ago, the out and out vintage record at Lime Rock was 1:06 in a Cooper Formula 1 car., A wonderful entry into vintage racing and in a car that has been a compettiive racer for 52 years., $23,000 ,, Advertiser Since 1974
