1993 Porsche 911 Type 964 Carrera RS 3.8-Litre Coupé 1 of only 2 Right Hand Drive Models Produced Only 12,277 Miles from New! Chassis No.WPOZZZ96ZPS497098 Engine no. 62P85636 Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer for sale one of the rarest Porsche 911"s of all time; a 964 Carrera RS with the 3.8-litre engine, which was produced in very limited numbers with a total factory production of only 55 cars, only 2 of which were right hand drive! Evoking memories of the legendary 2.7 and 3.0-litre RS and RSR which were regarded as “ “homologation specials of the 1970"s' Porsche AG introduced in 1992 a Type 964 Carrera RS, which was a lightweight variant like its illustrious forebears. It was based on the ‘Carrera Cup" competition car and sold in the European market only. The Carrera RS retained the 3.6-litre engine, albeit boosted in maximum output to 260bhp, but for the following Carrera RS ‘3.8", the bore size was increased by 2mm for a capacity of 3,746cc. Maximum power went up to 300bhp and this M64/04 engine was installed in a wider, Turbo-style body, also used for the RSR competition version. Our car was 1 of only 2 Right Hand Drive cars ever produced. Supplied new in Australia, this unique Carrera RS 3.8 has only covered only 12,277 miles from new in the hands of just 3 owners. The first owner, a prominent Australian Businessman, personally ordered the motorcar from Porsche Customer Racing Service, the factory racing department headed by Jurgen Barth, the iconic works driver. He kept the car in his extensive private collection, using it sparingly until December 2005 when he sold the motorcar; it had covered a mere 10,800 miles. Two more owners completed less than 2,000 miles in a further 8 years! A complete service history file accompanies the car that includes correspondence from Herr Barth, the original invoice & of course the workshop invoices throughout the cars" life. Presented in its original colour of Grand Prix White (code P5) with Black Interior (Type YY) this Carrera RS 3.8 represents a unique opportunity to acquire a late, air-cooled, 2nd generation Type 964 limited edition model. The Porsche is supplied with its original owner"s wallet, handbook and tool kit and a complete documented & stamped service history from new. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase one of only two right hand drive 964RS 3.8"s ever produced which in our opinion is the most exclusive and collectable contemporary Porsche of all time.
