The Land Rover offered here was originally delivered to Colorado where it lived a very charmed life with the original owner until 2007 when it was sold to a Land Rover enthusiast in Newport Beach, CA. Upon arrival in CA it was inspected and found to be rust free and in very good original condition, but needing a restoration. The mileage indicated at that time was just shy of 40,000 and appeared to be original, but it can"t be verified. Shortly thereafter it was sent to Rover Works BC in Canada for a full restoration. A new 2.25L military engine was installed and all mechanical and electrical systems were rebuilt or replaced. Five new Firestone military tires were installed and Rovers Down South supplied a new Fairey Overdrive. The body was stripped of its original red paint and then painted green. The seats were recovered in the original style brown vinyl and a new headliner was made from the very durable Sunbrella canvas. New rubber floor mats (ribbed) were fitted. All gauges and switches were made operational and remain so today. The dual interior heaters will keep you warm all winter long and the dual fuel tanks improve fuel range. Three years after the restoration was completed (2011) the owner had only driven it 1,500 miles and he was short on space, so it was sold through me to another Newport Beach resident. He moved it to his house in Lake Arrowhead where it was stored in a climate controlled garage and used during the summer. This owner (number three) got bored midway through 2013 and sent it to a restoration specialist in Los Angeles for “a few things.' The bill for the few things was $20,000 and included a full chassis detail, a complete tear down and rebuild of the suspension and steering, both fuel tanks were removed and restored, various electrical situations were improved everything underneath was repainted or re-plated. The engine, transmission, rear end and transfer case (all of which have less than 2,000 miles on them) were serviced and any leaks were tended to. Everything underneath is new and looks great. The multi-page receipt for the 2013 work is on hand along with the clean and clear CA title. The receipts for the Rover Works BC restoration were given by me to owner number two and I forwarded to owner number three, but I haven"t received them back. I will do my best to get them. The eBay ad where owner number two purchased the car from the estate of owner number one (via a dealer in Colorado) was also previously in my hands and should come back to me with the Rover Works receipts. The pictures in the 2007 eBay ad show what a fantastically straight and rust free Land Rover this was before everybody started restoring it. Price: $39,500
