The Land Rover Series trucks are legendary for their off-road capabilities, but are not necessarily known for comfort, speed or on-road refinement. But this exceptional 1967 Land Rover Series IIA 109 has been meticulously restored and updated with modern conveniences such as power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, GTS bucket seats, and a 200 TDi engine making it quite comfortable while preserving a correct, classic look. The truck was restored in 2011-2012 by Lanny Clark Land Rover Restoration in Colchester, Vermont -- everything about it feels bespoke. The chassis and body shell have been powder coated, not painted, for extra durability. Door skins, seals, hardware and latches are new -- these doors open and close better than any Series or Defender I've seen. Exterior lighting has been updated with H4 headlights and period-correct Lucas fog lights; the headlights were relocated from the grille to the wings in order to accommodate the updated radiator and a/c components. All four wheels were replaced with updated British military standard 16-inch rims with new tires (and two matching spares -- one mounted on the rear door and one mounted to the hood). The panels are remarkably straight with good gaps; finish quality is excellent. Interior appointments include custom floor mats, a new headliner, sport steering wheel, refurbished Smiths heater, a locking center console with cupholders, and very attractive and comfortable GTS bucket seats front and rear. Custom-cut sound deadening material is included but has not been installed. All of the gauges have been refurbished, and of course all lights, switches and indicators are working properly. It's by far the cleanest, most comfortable Series truck I've ever driven. Under the hood is a rebuilt 200 TDi direct-injection turbo diesel mated to a new four-speed high ratio manual gearbox. With both power steering and power brakes, it's easy to drive -- and cool in the summers thanks to air conditioning (a rarity on any Series truck). All shocks and bushings have been replaced and axles have been serviced; it's fully restored and turn-key in every way both mechanically and cosmetically. We have extensive records and photos documenting this truck's transformation, with itemized receipts approaching six figures. Offered at significantly less than the restoration cost. An excellent value compared to a similar Lanny Clark restoration featured in the 2013 Orvis catalog . We welcome you or your inspector in our showroom; domestic and international shipping available.
