As Americans we love our trucks! Even in the midst of $3 and $4 per gallon gas they're consistently the best-selling vehicles on the market. And whether it's because of simple nostalgia or their long list of extremely useful design virtues one thing is certain: trucks NEVER go out of style. That means if you're in the market for a collector vehicle that's guaranteed to hold its appeal for a very long time you just can't go wrong with this classic Chevy. Featuring a vintage Thriftmaster motor a liquid smooth body and a fully restored original-style interior this slick Task Force combines rock-solid drivability with awesome 50s style! The beneficiary of a recent high quality frame-off restoration every aspect of this '57-mint Chevy has been meticulously restored to both preserve the appeal of its original design and create a more roadworthy drive. The truck's expressive body panels have been stripped massaged until they're straighter than anything that came out of a GM factory and bathed in a rich coat of dark green paint. Once that deep paint dried a protective coat of clear was meticulously applied and buffed to an impressive wet-look shine. And the result is a trophy winner in farmer's overalls which is sure to gain as many fans on a summertime grocery run as it does at the local car shows. Introduced as the successor to GM's venerable Advanced Design series the Task Force has become one of the most desirable and collectible truck lines ever created. And this great looking Chevrolet 3100 wraps excellent proportions in a classic and timeless design language which features 1957-exclusive details. At the front of the truck a one year only 'wide mouth' grille is centered between traditional chrome-trimmed headlights and bright bullet-style parking lamps. Below that grille a show worthy bumper wraps around the corners of the front fenders and above that grille a 1957 Bel Air-inspired hood wears a pristine red blue and chrome Chevrolet emblem. Behind that hood like-new glass is trimmed in fresh weatherstripping and bordered by a professionally applied pin stripe. Behind that glass Oak bed planks are held down by stainless hardware and body-matched skid strips. At the edge of those planks Oak side boards and bowtie-branded steps complement chrome mirrors chrome door handles a small gas cap and correct ''CHEVROLET 3100'' fender emblems. And at the back of the truck an embossed Chevrolet tailgate which features awesome white and gray lettering hangs above round tail lights and a second show worthy bumper. Raise the hood on this cool Chevy and you'll find a correct 235 cubic inch Thriftmaster six cylinder. Introduced for use in large trucks and regarded as one of the all-time great Chevrolet engines the Thriftmaster is a favorite among vintage GM truck buyers because of its simple design adequate power and excellent durability. At the top of the motor a correctly decaled air cleaner rides on a correct Rochester carburetor which is fed by stainless and braided fuel lines. Below that carburetor a chrome ''Chevrolet'' branded valve cover rides above a fresh points distributor which sends fire from a fresh coil to factory replacement plug wires. On the left side of the motor coated intake and exhaust manifolds breathe through the engine's unique siamesed ports. And in front of the engine a modern alternator and correct black fan spin behind a correct brass radiator. Under hood detailing is extensive as glossy green paint flows down the smooth firewall to provide an excellent contrast to prerequisite Satin Black fenders. And fresh belts and hoses combine with good wiring and a reproduction Delco battery to create a truck that can be reliably driven to any show or weekend cruise night. Crawling underneath this solid old Chevy reveals a clean undercarriage that is free from both damage caused by Mother Nature and run-ins with other cars. In fact based on looks alone it appears that this truck hasn't seen a rainy road or been anywhere near a mud puddle since its thorough restoration. The Thriftmaster's power flows from a standard equipment 4-speed manual transmission to a solid driveshaft which turns a sturdy rear end. That rear end pushes the truck on correct solid axles which are shackled to restored leaf springs and fresh shocks. Steering is provided by a manual rack which provides as much authenticity as your biceps can handle. And quick stops and solid calf muscles come courtesy of factory-equipped manual drum brakes. At the center of the floor a factory replacement exhaust system breathes through a polished bullet-style muffler and mirror-like tip. And at the corners of the truck 15-inch steelies spin pristine Chevrolet center caps inside bright gold pinstripes fresh stainless trim rings and 235/75 Multi-Mile Matrix whitewalls. Inside the cab a fully restored and extremely inviting interior takes you right back to the simpler days of the 1950s. The two-tone dash which is finished in a combination of gloss and satin gray hangs a crystal clear gauge pod next to chrome knobs a correct AM radio and a glove box-mounted Sony CD player. In front of that dash a vinyl and cloth bench wears an attractive pattern that's mimicked on both the headliner and door panels. Under that seat like-new carpet props color-matched floor mats next to traditional rubber pedals and a floor-mounted starter. Modern 3-point seatbelts have been installed for greater safety. And pristine door and window handles combine with an original shifter and red-detailed steering wheel to keep the driver connected to the road. It's a pretty rare thing to see a show-ready truck in our RK Motors Charlotte showroom. They tend to sell almost as fast as we post them. Don't miss this chance to own an iconic piece of automotive Americana that's sure to be a big hit wherever it goes! Price: $49,900
