Quite a history. We purchased this car 16 years ago from its original owner. Nice old fellow, car was immaculate other than somewhat worn and aged driver's seat leather. But all original and had covered only 24,000 miles since new. And rust free, perfect wood, drove like new. Sold it instantly (at cost) to one of my best friends. And with two little kids, a four seater turned out to be a 'family car.' Now....sixteen years later my friend moved from Connecticut to California to Ohio to S. Carolina...and the Morgan moved with him. Covered around 300 miles during the last decade and a half. Alwys garaged (as it had been with its first owner), covered, cared for...and rarely driven. Now back to us. For sale. And this is what we have; Excellent rust and bondo free body. Essentially perfect. Couldn't find any cracks, damage, or rust on the chassis. Wood looks like this car had been kept in the dry Southwest....perfect. Excellent original wiring harness, very clean chrome and trim, excellent wood dashboard, all of the original gauges work properly, no smoke, perfect oil pressure, strong running, brakes work well, same wth steering, suspension, EVERYTHING. Fabulous. Even the original rubber mattiing in the interior is near perfect. Some wear and tear on the front seats but, being original, incredible. And the tonneau we had made for him, in expensive Stayfast cloth, (black with red piping), 'as new.' The wood door posts are excellent, the door hnges are fine, no door sagging....has its original heater, original top frame cover, even the original glove box material is excellent. Repainted once, maybe 30 years ago, very few (and very small) blemishes. Still sufficiently good for any kind of show in which a Morgan might been seen. What a car. With 105 hp TR4 engine, disc brakes, weighs less than a T Series MG (which has 54.4 hp), this car goes. Easily cruises at 85-90 mph, rapid acceleration, great handling, and the 4 seaters ride wonderfully. Unlike the 2 seaters, the front seats have real springs and even adjustable back rests. Back when, we installed front and rear seat belts (oh, the kids are now in college). So now? Needs nothing. Just serviced, cleaned and ready for the 2014 driving season. (These are VERY RARE and remarkably useful cars....have personally owned Morgan four seaters for exactly forty years, one still in my barn, and love the fact they actually seat four adults. Even big adults. Same chassis, length, maybe within 75 pounds of weight. Roomier and more comfortable front seats, otherwise identical to the two seaters. How rare? Around 10 f Morgan production was typically four seats and production, post war, was maybe 85 to 600 cars a year, total.) And my son, a strapping 6'3" and 240 pounds, fits in the back seat of my 4 seater. What other classic sports car with running boards, louvered bonnet, easy to service, robust drive train, AND FROM A COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS....can equal this? Answer: none. IF you appreciate a near perfect (with a bit of poetic licnese, being that it is 50 years old....100+ in human years) classic sports car that is not fussy, easy to keep on the road, and with great style, this is your opportunity to have one of the best anywhere.
