Regarded by many Ford enthusiasts as one of the finest designs to own, the 1934 model year is quite the prize for any collector! Superb body lines, raked front grill with wide surround, vertical hood slats with two release levers instead of one, and slightly smaller headlights & cowl lamps made for an incredibly handsome car that mimicked much more expensive vehicles of the same era. An increase in V8 engine performance to 85 horsepower didn"t hurt sales either! We are very pleased to offer this rare 1934 Ford Model 40B Deluxe Fordor Sedan. Tastefully finished in Cordoba Gray with Beige Mohair interior, this example was restored to drive as good as it looks! Power on this all steel sedan comes from its original 221ci Flathead V8 with Stromberg 97 carburetion and 3-speed manual transmission. Other features include red wire wheels, Lester 5.25×5.5 4-ply wide whitewall tires, rear-mounted spare with steel cover, greyhound hood ornament, accessory mirror, vacuum-powered wiper, tilt out front windshield, cigar lighter & ashtray, beveled rearview mirror, correct twin chrome horns & cowl lights, fitted vinyl floor matting in front compartment, seatbelts, turn signals, and rear assist handles with sun shade! A very solid body and frame, along with a great running engine and wonderful driving capabilities, make this a must have! The car was under long-term ownership in New York through 2010 and it was this owner that cosmetically restored the car. Enhancements to the engine include cast iron heads painted to look like the correct aluminum units. All of the interior as well as wood grain was redone during this ownership as well! It retains correct cloth-covered wiring throughout and proper dash instrumentation. The odometer now shows only 7,392, which we believe to be since an engine rebuild but have no way of verifying. Most recently out of Pennsylvania, this car presents a splendid opportunity to own a true steel bodied "34 Ford! Known for their elegant style, comfort, and reliability, these gorgeous deluxe sedans were further endorsed into history as famous, speedy getaway cars by the likes of Bonnie & Clyde and John Dillinger! This car continues to run and drive wonderfully, and should quickly prove to be a handsome show car and tour candidate! Please feel free to call with additional questions, or to schedule an opportunity to view this car in person! We look forward to working with you! Price: $39,900
