In September 1970, a young Lieutenant in the Army, Orville “Buck' Johnson and his wife Beverly ordered their new 911T from the Canadian PX in Germany. While still stationed there, they drove and enjoyed the car, putting over 5,000 miles on it to avoid the U.S."s excise tax before shipping it back stateside. They shipped the car back to Missouri, where Buck attended Univ. of Missouri for his engineering degree. After grad school, the Johnsons relocated to Albany, Georgia where life took over with work and raising a family. In 2003 Buck decided he would rather have a new tractor, and after not driving the car for more than 10 years it was time to part with their beloved 911 with only 36,000 miles. The Johnsons sold the 911 to a gentleman named Steve Bartlett. Steve was a Porsche guy and quickly got this 911 up to speed; new tires, batteries and carb rebuilds solved the issues that came from a car that had been sitting for more than 10 years. Steve shipped the car to a Porsche specialist in Alabama to ensure it was ready to be enjoyed. The car was then sold to a gentleman in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 2009, Tom Beeler, a consultant and trainer for Porsche North America bought this gem and took it back to his home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tom owned the car for nearly 4 years before contacting us. When we received the car, we were blown away by its originality, especially the 43,000 original miles! The paint had been rubbed on for many years and it seemed we rubbed too hard in a couple of spots. So, we had to retouch a few panels. However, overall the original paint is excellent! The interior remains completely original, as does the engine compartment. This is a prime example of a rust-free, unrestored 911T with a great color combination. The warranty book, owner"s manuals and service receipts, along with contact numbers to stroll down memory lane are included.
