For additonal amd larger format picturres of this 1966 “A' Code Ford Mustang Fastback, please go to This is a very rare and unusual Mustang. The Fastbacks are very rare to start with, plus this is an “A' Code Fastback. I am trying right now to find an “A' Code 1966 Convertible for someone right now and have been trying for some time with no luck! I will pay a finder"s fee to someone who finds on for me that could buy. So make yourself some money!! This car is also very rare in that it is Emberglo originally complimented by Emberglo and Parchment interior which would be absolutely stunning when the car is painted. This car does need a paint job and even now does not have the correct color of Emberglo on the exterior of the car. You can see by the pictures of the Emberglo doors, the paint on the interior of the car is the correct color and you can see how much it differs from the exterior paint. Beside the facts that it is an Emberglo with Emberglo and Parchment interior, it has something else that is VERY rare also. This car has all the unique items from the factory to make it a GT!! It has the factory reinforcement for the dual exhaust, plus the hole through the radiator core support for the fog lights and the hole through the inner fender panel for the proportioning value for the front disc brakes. It also still has the proportioning valves after 50 years. Most people do not know that A Code cars came from the factory with single exhaust even though they were 289 with 4 barrel carb. The K Codes and the GT"s were the only cars that had dual exhaust. My point to all of this is that when this car is that when this car is painted by someone, I think they should make it back into a GT again. That would make this car worth a great deal of money being an Emberglo with Parchment and Emberglo interior and being a GT also. This is an incredibly high optioned car as it has almost new style steel wheels, power steering, factory A/C that works, console, disc brakes, limited slip differential, plus it had the rare Emberglo paint and Parchment and Emberglo interior combination. I never could understand why Ford did not make Mustangs with more different color interiors instead of just black. We have done a tremendous amount of work to the car to get this car ready for sale. I will list for you later all the specifics that we have done. We made the engine compartment much nicer. This took us several days to do. We also restored the interior of the car and added some new items to replace some of the original items that were 50 years old. We replaced the cracked dash with a brand new one. We dyed the new one as there are no Emberglo dashes available. We repainted the steel part of the main dash parchment which was its original color. We removed the door panels and stripped down the door to restore the original Emberglo color being careful not to damage the grain on the doors. We repainted the door pillars back to original. We detailed the A/C face plate and replaced the A/C vents with new vents. When the instrument bezel and rally-pac were removed, we painted the dash and the steering column. We removed the console, painted and detailed it along with detailing and repainted the glove box door and the piece holding the glove box door. We prepped and painted the rear interior panels. When the instrument bezel was out, we fixed all the electrical items plus replaced all the bulbs behind the dash. When the door panels were off, we installed new door handles and then put everything back together. We also installed new disc brake pedal pad and detailed the emergency brake handle. When we were detailing the engine compartment we also removed the grill, pony in corral, hood latch assembly, horns and grille molding and bead blasted, primed and painted all these items. I had a really nice 1966 grille that I had been saving for a special car. We detailed, painted and installed it in this car. When all these items were removed, we prepped and painted the radiator core support and the A/C condenser. If you look at the grille areas of the car you will see how nice the car looks now. All total, we have spent about two weeks on the car. It runs and drives very nicely and I am sure you will enjoy driving it also. I have taken pictures of the floors for you so you can see how nice they are. Please look at how nice the underside of the doors are also. I have taken pictures of the rocker panels that you can see how nice the pinch welds are plus how nice the rockers are. I noticed while I was looking at the rocker panels that you can see the original date code on them which is November 11th. Very rare indeed! Steve - or
