This 1965 Corvette convertible has just under gone a complete ground up restoration completed in Dec. 2013. The car was found in Youngstown OH, by the second owner since 1982. This car was purchased in 82 for the sum of $12,500...considered a lot of money for that time! The mileage indicated on the title then was 82,314, now, less than 4,000 miles has been put on this car since then. Recently, the car has been repainted in the factory color scheme Ermine White with blk soft top and matching white hard top. The interior is donned in a rare burgundy, an interesting, handsome color combo. The engine is a 327/350 L-79 #'s matching engine, highly detailed with a fresh factory correct appearance. M21 #'s matching 4 spd. Muncie trans., 3.55 Posi traction axle. High gloss Ermine White exterior finish meticulously restored to showroom standards and presents itself exceptionally well. The exterior has perfect original body lines, proper alignment of all original panels. Refinished by a professional body man, he couldn't believe how straight the cars original body was. A no hit body beautiful original body with factory orig. bonding strips. No indications of any fiberglass work what so ever. The 3rd owner found the car a few years ago in a garage where it had been sitting for over a decade. The paint was an awful color Brown, but all was in tacked. He verified the #'s matching drivetrain, checked the trim tag and noticed the factory color was Ermine white. The interior was Burgundy, very rare and in need of some TLC. The car sustained its original GM bumpers that later were re chromed with show quality triple chrome plating. The orig. bright work and stainless were restored and polished, orig. glass including the windshield. High attention to detail in the door jambs with no signs of any Brown paint. New weather strip, door handles, lock cylinders are original. The grille was original and in excellent condition and restored with a little polishing. Head lamps work perfectly, T3 headlights, new taillight bezels and emblems are in fantastic condition. A complete new Al Knocks burgundy interior kit was installed. Original dash pads are in excellent condition, new seat covers, door panels, carpet and sill plates. The instrument cluster and gauges are original and are considered excellent. Clock was restored by using quartz conversion. AM/FM radio, new glove box liner, factory seat belts were also restored. New clutch brake and gas pedal, factory style shifter was upgraded to look original, however, a new Hurst shifter was installed and the car shifts as smooth as butter! Looking under the hood, everything has been restored. All dated component parts match, except the Holley carb., Idler pulley for the L-79 option is in place, AC Delco fuel filter, correct intake, dist., alternator, radiator, over flow canister and correct style air cleaner element. The car runs extremely well and has a highly detailed engine bay. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and refinished in 60 M restoration satin black. Complete new exhaust system with the correct OEM mufflers and correct chrome tip extensions. The car was never taken off the frame. Nice clean original body bushings, smooth orig. frame appears to be extremely solid. 4 new shock, front end and suspension components are in excellent condition. Indicated miles are 86,456 actual. Re chromed side vent window, bow tie side view mirror, also, new Trico wiper blades, new radio, power antenna, new gas door. New P275/75R 15" WSW radials with beautifully restored orig. spinner caps. Rocker mouldings, emblems have been replaced. Considered an extremely nice mid-year Corvette with the orig. drive train with no hit body. Comes with OH Title and copy of the second owners PH Title dated June 3, 1987. Investment grade, realistically priced. Must see to appreciate! Price: $59,900
