Purchased from a private GM collector in OH, this 1970 Chevelle SS convertible is a very original example. Only have had 3 owners, this Chevelle SS was built in Baltimore MD, then shipped to Burroughs White Chevrolet Corp. in Martinsville VA. The first owner lived in VA and had the car until 1979. Then it sold to someone in OH who had the car until 2010. This car was always garaged, no winters. Never before advertised, this true SS has a 396/350hp #'s matching motor just rebuilt and has less than 200 miles since the overhaul. Detailed engine bay with correct dated components with no modification under the hood. Freshly rebuilt #'s matching engine with approx. 100 miles since completed. Correct dated components, heads, intake, carb, dist., alt., exhaust manifolds with OEM style mufflers, orig. GM chrome tip extensions. Harrison radiator, correct style GM belts, hoses and clamps. New GM style chrome valve covers, orig. cowl induction air cleaner with orig. rubber hood seal. Date coded spark plug wires, Simply stunning, A-1 condition under the hood. Functional cowl induction, PS, PFDB, M20 wide ratio Muncie 4 spd., 12 bolt 3.31 Posi traction axle. F41 suspension, am/fm stereo, remote driver's side mirror. Factory Rally wheels, hood pins. Beautiful door bottoms w/original door weather strip and doors that close easily. Orig. blue MFG data vin tag, orig. window felts, trim, bright work, stainless, emblems are factory original. The chrome bumpers are considered in excellent condition with no flaws. Front grille, headlight chrome bezels, rear tail lamps are excellent. Solid orig. sheet metal with one single repaint in the factory original Cranberry Red, white stripes, white convert., top. Genuine GM orig. parts. Other options are: PS, PFDB, F41 suspension, am/fm radio, power conv. top with glass back window. Strato buckets with console and Hurst 4 spd. shifter. The body and paint are exceptionally nice. Proper alignment to hood, fenders, doors and rear trunk lid with orig. paint in the jambs. Orig. rear quarters with factory spot welds. Restored in bright red, the interior is very nice through out. SS steering wheel with no cracks, perfect dash pad. Aftermarket tach neatly installed on the steering column. Instrumentation with tach & gauges, carpet door panels, seat covers, dash pad, instrument cluster is in excellent condition. Complete set of factory seat belts, Hurst competition shifter, power conv. top, tinted windshield, all shows well with no wear or tear. Inside the trunk, the car has an orig. spare tire and jack. No moisture or rust repair noticed. Convertible boot and trunk mat is also in the trunk. Beautiful under side that is very original and not restored. Rock solid floors and frame with no signs of rust or repair. There are no rattles, clunks, or vibration when accelerating this Chevelle SS engaging the cowl induction flap making this car run and ride extremely well. Comes with OH Title and orig. build sheet. 1970 Chevelle SS convertibles are considered the most sought after convertibles today. This is a rare complete #'s matching through out Chevelle SS with orig. sheet metal, documented 3 owners, investment quality that is very hard to find and well maintained through out its lifetime.
