1952 Jaguar XK 120 3.4L OTS Roadster Chassis No. 672755 Engine No. W5764-8 Exceptional Matching-Numbers XK120 Roadster Benefiting From a Beautiful Restoration Offered With a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate Recent Major Service Performed An Ideal Motorcar use in Vintage Rallies, Tours, and Continued Showing Single California Owner for 23 Years For Jaguar the XK series was turning point to luxury and sporting performance, it would all begin in 1948 with the introduction of the extraordinary XK120 Roadster. Named after its max speed the X120 was not only a great performer but also a piece of rolling art and surely a status symbol for the lucky few who were able to acquire one at the time. Today they remain in high demand and one of the preferred British models for use in tours, rallies, and events around the world. It is rare to find any major sports car collection without one. This Car... Built in August 27, 1952 this roadster was dispatched to the famous Hollywood dealer Chas Hornburg on September 3, 1952. Hornburg Jaguar Distributors was the first to bring Jaguar to the United States in 1953 and this car is likely one of the very first XK120 Roadsters delivered Stateside. The first owner of this California black plate example maintained and enjoyed the roadster for many years before it was sold to the second owner also from California. He would retain the car for the next 23 years. By 2003 the car was in need of light restoration and a beautiful bare metal restoration was performed. The engine was rebuilt and a beautiful black finish was applied. Then in 2012 the car received a completely new leather interior which presents as new today. More recently the car has received a major tune-up and the head was completely rebuilt. Offered complete with weather equipment side curtains, tonneau cover, spare wheel and tire, wheel cover spats, jack, wrench, a file with service records and receipts, and its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate this example is truly a worthy addition to any collection or would make the perfect casual show car and cruiser. If you have been looking for the "right" XK120 Roadster we strongly encourage a closer look at this offering as it represents tremendous value in today's marketplace.
