When the seventies rolled around there were many changes on the horizon for American manufactures. The government, insurance companies, and of course oil companies would dictate car designs forever and 71 was the start of major changes. However, some models stood the test of time a couple of more years like this beautiful Hardtop GTO. It is a real GTO but it is not a full blown numbers matching unit. It used to be green but it was such a honest ole car that the restoration was performed to a very high standard with most of the goodies 71 had to offer. It has a detailed, rebuilt 400 V-8 with aluminum intake, 4 barrel carburetor, headers, dual exhaust, and a correct functional Ram Air induction set up with the bladders feeding the air cleaner from the awesome looking forward mounted hood scoops. You can really see the Firebird influence from the Pontiac designers on a 71. It has a 1 off year dual grille that is almost impossible to find in good shape. There is a reproduction mesh available if you find a correct housing. A hood tach was also added. A must on a GTO! The body, paint, trim, and chrome are outstanding. It looks terrific with the Judge style stripes and spoilers. The immaculate interior is fine with white seat covers, door panels, and headliner. It also has a Formula steering wheel, console, deluxe pedal trim, and Hurst 4-speed T-handle shifter. The chassis is clean and shows well with power steering, power front disc brakes, front/rear sway bars, gas shocks, new gas tank, aluminum exhaust, and refurbished hardware. The trunk is nicely detailed like an original car and comes with a full size spare sitting on a reproduction mat. This is a stunning looking GTO that is very easy on the eyes and drives very well. Great eye appeal and a quality restoration are hard to beat. Make this Goat yours and burn some rubber this summer. Financing, insurance, and delivery are easily available. Price: $42,500 negotiable
