1955 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hardtop coupe Pro-Touring. Vehicle Info: VIN: VC55L066457 Paint: Radiant Fire Red Trim: Gray cloth and ultra-leather Engine: 572 cubic inch Chevrolet big block V8 Transmission: Tremec 5-speed manual Rear end: 3.50:1 posi-traction Equipment: Power steering, power disc brakes, tilt steering AM/FM Audiovox cassette player in dash, hidden audio with under-dash mount and remote-control CD player with TEK Crossover amplifier hidden in trunk, one piece California bumpers with bumper guards, leather-wrapped billet steering wheel, billet brake and clutch pedal pads, inside day/night mirror, vintage air AC with billet AC vents This car was a rust-free near perfect body to start with. The car was disassembled and the body taken off the frame. The chassis was redone using Flaming River tubular A-arms and coilover suspension, rack and pinion steering, new crossmembers, and front subframe. The chassis has rear leaf spring suspension, a Currie rear housing with 3.50:1 ratio gears, Dutchman axles and traction bars. All brake and fuel lines are stainless steel. All hoses on the car are braided stainless. After the chassis was completed, the new Chevrolet 572 crate engine was installed with a new clutch, bell housing, and Tremec manual transmission. A special shifter was needed, and a custom clutch linkage was fabricated. The exhaust is three-inch diameter with aluma-coated pipes and stainless extensions out the rear. A stainless steel gas tank and straps were installed with an electric internal fuel pump. The body was stripped and carefully prepared for paint. The paint is three stage with clear coat in brilliant red. All stainless trim was buffed to a glossy shine and installed. All of the glass is news. Electric wipers were installed. The cowl vent was chromed. The one piece bumpers and all of the bults are new. Once painted, the body was put back on the frame for assembly. All sheet metal was aligned for perfect fit. The interior is done in gray cloth and ultra leather. The new dash cluster is custom made by Classic Instruments in Boyne City, MI. The dash trim is like new. All window garnish moldings have been chrome plated. The headliner has Nomad station wagon chrome top bows installed. The steering column is polished Flaming River with all joints and shafts to the rack and pinion polished. All weather strips are Soft Seal and are new. All emblems and trim are either new, refurbished and polished to better-than-new condition, or re-chrome plated. The car was completely rewired and either fuses or relays installed. The car is top nitch, professionally restored with the finest products on the market today. The 17 inch American racing Torque Thrust II five spoke polished aluminum wheels look great on all four corners. The car is built to be a fantastic roadcar with top notch performance and handling.
