For sale is a custom 1950 Mercury 2-Door located in our Indianapolis showroom. This custom \50 Merc exudes the \cool factor\ for sure. The incredible attention to detail and build quality are top notch from the engine build to the custom body modifications and interior this car will not disappoint. This custom 1950 Mercury 2-Door is powered by a bored and stroked Ford 351 CID Windsor V8 engine backed by a Ford C-4 3-speed automatic transmission running to a Ford 9\ rear end with about 1000 miles on the build. The engine was professionally rebuilt starting with a Ford 351 Windsor block that was bored and stroked to 390 CID. Internal components put in during the rebuild include: Hastings Piston Rings KB Performance Pistons Clevite 77 Rod and Main Bearings Truck Rods 351 Seasoned Crank turned to 0.10 over Dynagear Oil Pump and Pump Drive Cloyes Double Roller Timing Chain Wolverine Blue Racer Cam and Lifters coming in at 10.0 to 1 Compression. The heads were also ported with 1.94 Stainless Valves Hardened Seats and .600 Lift Springs. Sitting on top is a Edelbrock Aluminum Dual 4-Barrel Intake with Dual Edelbrock Carburetors. Other upgrades to the engine compartment consist of a Chrome Oil Pan Electric Radiator Fan Aluminum Finned Cobra Valve Covers and Air Cleaner a Chrome Alternator and Smithy Twin Mufflers. Options on this custom 1950 Mercury 2-Door for sale include: AM/FM Radio with CD Player Power Brakes Power Steering Power Windows Power Seats Chrome Tilt Steering Wheel Keyless Entry Seat Belts Leather Interior Wide White Wall Radial Tires. Each body panel was removed and painted in SW UB7 Black base coat/clear coat with Purple ghost flames on each side and custom pin striping for that nostalgic hot rod look. All the side trim pieces were removed and filled in prior to paint being laid down. Exterior modifications that were also done include: Frenched Jaguar Headlights 1955 Desoto Grill with turn signals trimmed out to fit a rare 1950 Stainless Steel Grill Pan Shaved Hood with 180 Louvers with smoothed edges and two custom hood scoops Custom Sun Visor Two Appleton 522 Spotlights Shaved Door Handles and Trunk Lid with Poppers Recessed Electric Antenna Etched Rear Side Windows 1951 Mercury Fender Skirts Rear Bumper has custom cutouts with driving lights Recessed Tail Lights with Glass Blue Dots and Lake Side Pipes (for show but could be hooked up). The interior is impeccable as well consisting of 1964 T-Bird Wrap Around Interior Custom Center Console Door Trim and Headliner all covered in Lexus Beige Leather. Finishing out the interior is a Lokar console shifter and an Alpine AM/FM/CD Player that is custom ceiling mounted in a Billet Aluminum enclosure with six speakers integrated throughout the interior. This \50 Merc \Lead Sled\ is a definite crowd stopper and proven show winner that has the look the sound and feel that everyone wants.
