Chassis No. 214369 Engine No. (5)0600538 Complete Numbers-Matching as per Porsche Certificate of Authenticity Wearing original Colors, Trim and Stampings Highly Accessorized from the Factory Very Strong Driver The Porsche 356 was the company's first production automobile. It was a lightweight and nimble handling rear-engine rear-wheel-drive 2 door sports car, available in hardtop and convertible configurations. Design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and popularity, production ended in April of 1965. Completed on August 7th of 1963, incredibly equipment from the factory, here is a great example for those considering a presentable "driver's" 356B; ready to enjoy in correct Signal Red (6211) over black leatherette upholstery with German square weave carpeting and proper appointments. The car appears to retain the majority of original numbered trim, lenses, Porsche crests and stamped (69) front and rear latches. The cosmetics have seasoned nicely from an older ground-up restoration. Paintwork has begun to show its age in areas such as slight crazing and door edge bubbling, while the upholstery displays quite nicely. The front luggage compartment is clean and original with liner, spare and jack assembly. The engine bay reveals a fresh looking powerplant. All-around performance is excellent with the complete numbers-matching powerplant providing a solid torque band and combines well with the Koni suspension and a smooth shifting transaxle. All well-suit the car as a fun runabout or weekend rally star. An excellent entry into 356 ownership, these Porsches have long been known to provide years of reliable motoring, and this reasonably priced and honest example is just the candidate for continued enjoyment.
