1929 was a notable year for Cadillac's companion "LaSalle" brand. This pre-war luxury car line was conceived a few years prior by auto-styling legend Harley Earl. His overseas travels allowed him to experience the European motoring tradition, which would inform and inspire the designs for the LaSalle in the mid-20's. Evidence of this inspiration can be seen in hints of old world ornamentation on the upholstery trim, the LaSalle figure hood mascot, and lamp hardware similar in design as the regal Hispano Suiza automobiles. All of these notions resulted in the series 328, which featured a longer wheelbase and a wider coach. LaSalle rivaled it's "big brother" V8 powered 355 series in size and presentation.The 5 passenger coupe shown here makes a lively impression with it's laser-straight body clad in bright Valencia orange with black colored fenders as was standard. The main body color is accented by wire spoke wheels in green. Paint and chrome are excellent. Interior upholstery was redone and is excellent. Dashboard is good with some wear on switches and gauges. Engine runs good, suspension, mechanical brakes perform well on the road. This is an excellent Fisher-bodied pre-war coupe with vibrant presentation character, and a rare opportunity to own a unique classic car at an attractive price. Youtube video available upon request.
