For sale by ownerSeller Rick Jacobs, car is located in WARumor has it this was ordered from a older gentleman from a Pacific Northwest Chevy dealer with a bench seat, column shift Turbo 400 auto. He was irritated that he had to pay for a SS package to receive the 454. He only wanted a good utility hauler and tow rig (hitch was removed during restoration). Documentation is strongly supported from the second owner up which took place in the mid-80s. One small piece of the build sheet was found under the seat during restoration. It shows Van Nuys California is where it was built and the engine that was selected at time of manufacturing (454-365hp)., 1971 El Camino SS 454 LS-5, This is the real thing not a clone!, Matching numbers 454 SS, BLOCK CASTING 3 -1971 427/454, ENGINE PAD T0105CPD11LXXXXXX CPD=1971 365HP, HEAD CASTING 3 402/454 OVAL OPEN CHAMBER 113CC 365HP LS-5, INTAKE 395287 CAST IRON OVAL PORT 454 (360,365,390 HP ), I had to save this onethis poor thing sat under tarps in Seattle for years and years. Its amazingly enough it did not have very much rust. The floors and smugglers box were replaced with panels from OPG and professionally installed. I made a point not to purchase out of country reproduction parts and can honestly say I only had to throw my hands up after extensive searches and purchased about 12 reproduction parts!! Even the brand new front brake rotors where made in the USA from one of the last brake manufactures in this country!! I was given many many NOS GM parts in the bags, lovingly saved through the years from the past two owners! All the outside trim except for the bed corners and drip rails were brand new NOS, including the badging.!!, Some small upgrades where made on the engine, its fresh and believed to be bored over .30. Thumper 1 Cam from Comp Cams(always wanted a rumpty rump idle), torquer II intake and Holley Street Eliminator 780 carb. Headers and still to be installed a 3" custom handmade exhaust with X pipe center section. HEI distributor, cars comes with matching original carb, dist and intake., After going through three painters (two were nut jobs) this El Camino ended up at a well known shop in Spokane to spend three months getting the paint and body laser straight. Green is the new black and this three coat modern finish just pops!!, All body mounts were replaced plus suspension bushings. Rear "boxed" trailing arms were used plus Black Bilstein shocks for ride quality. Top manufactures were picked for their quality of reproduction of the seat upholstery cover (made just like the original) and door panels. AgainUSA USA USA (loud chant)!!, All lights work, right down to the glove box light and interior light!!, Correct SS wheels, I do have the original REAL trim rings but got a much better snug fit from OER a licensed GM remanufacture trim rings. Price: $36,900
