Here"s a blast from the past: A 1948 Mercury Eight Convertible Coupe in Maize Yellow. 7,500 Mercury convertible coupes were sold new for $1,885 in 1948. This particular coupe does have the original flathead V8 revving out 100hp with dual exhaust and a 3-spd on the column which has been converted to 12volts with a Mallory distributor. This "48 Mercury underwent a complete frame-off restoration including a reupholstering of the interior and has been driven since its restoration. This charmer rides on custom wheels with beauty rings and stock hubcaps. It is also rust-free and the interior is immaculate with original AM radio, audio tuner, and wood grain accents. The convertible top is a fully powered top with a color-matched soft boot. Seat-belts have been added as with aftermarket oil pressure, battery voltage, and water temp gauges under the dash for peace-of-mind cruising.
