When you build a car for yourself you tend to focus on the things that matter most to you. This 1967 Chevelle convertible skips all the frivolity and gets right to business courtesy of a 502 cubic inch big block and a 4-speed transmission. If it didn't make the car go faster it didn't make it into the build but this hardcore dedication to speed to the exclusion of all else pays big dividends for the guy who just wants to go fast. The '67 Chevelle is just about the ideal muscle car: large enough to handle a big block and carry enough friends to make things interesting but not so big that it forgets how to dance. This electric blue ragtop shows you all the other styling tricks that make the '67s so popular with collectors too: clean chiseled body lines those gorgeous taillights and a simple full-width grille that focuses on clean lines rather than overworked glamour. The interior is put together just the way you'd do it including newly upholstered buckets and a center console stuffed full of Muncie 4-speed. There were a variety of patterns and colors available in the Chevelle but basic black always looks right. New carpets and door panels add to the fresh look and the builder obviously took great pains to maintain originality while improving function. For example the original gauges remain intact but a column-mounted tachometer and a trio of auxiliary gauges were added. You'll note the console sports an accessory clock but that's about it for performance-sapping accessories. No radio no A/C and even the new black top is manually actuated which means that this car is for the performance junkie no posers need apply. There is a spare and a reproduction mat in the clean trunk but those are easily removed at the strip so no penalty there. Big power comes from big engines and the thumping 502 cubic inch crate motor under the hood takes no prisoners. Wearing the standard valve covers and a chrome open-element air cleaner it sticks with a less-is-more formula that suggests that getting the power to the wheels is more important than standing around in a parking lot admiring shiny bits. This Chevelle also includes a massive radiator up front and a set of torque-enhancing long-tube headers that dump into a Flowmaster exhaust system. You'll note that the undercarriage is tidy albeit not intended for show duty and that 4-speed spins a set of 2.73 gears on a Posi (with that big block you sure don't need a lot of gear to get out of the hole). Handsome Rally wheels wear fat 235/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials blackwalls for a performance look that never goes out of style. Nothing gets more respect on the street than a big block and when it's wrapped in a Chevelle this pretty and goes this fast folks definitely tend to notice. Call today!
