This Series 3 V12 is an original California car since new, and has held very limited ownership throughout the course of its life. The first owner purchased the car new in Santa Barbara, CA, and took excellent care of the vehicle keeping a detailed service log of work and saving receipts of work performed, which accompany the roadster. In addition, the E-type includes the original owner's manuals, Protecto plate, and associated documentation. Furthermore, in the past the roadster has been shown and campaigned at the San Diego Jaguar Concours d'Elegance, where it impressively scored 97.94 points. After spending the last 5 years garaged in storage, the V12 has recently received a major servicing by Classic Showcase, which included: all fluids being changed, all filters and hoses were replaced, the radiator and header tank received R & R and service, the hydraulic and clutch systems were serviced, all gas was removed and flushed, tires were replaced with new 205/70/15R Dunlops, a new Interstate battery, along with a new master cylinder and clutch master. The roadster comes with a nerf bar in the front, working A/C, as well as a Jaguar AM/FM cassette player. The interior is in good condition overall, with original glass, a very nice soft top in canvas, and original wiper arms. This very original California V12 would make a wonderful daily driver for Jaguar enthusiasts and collectors alike! History: Launched in 1961 at the international motor show in Geneva, the E-type, or XKE, echoed the sensation of the XK-120, perhaps even more. An astonishing performance package, with amazing speed and handling, the XKE"s brand new 4-wheel independent suspension system was so well conceived, it was used by Jaguar for over thirty years. In 1971, a new 5.3 liter 12-cylinder Jaguar V-12 engine was introduced, with upgraded brakes and standard power steering and was available only as a convertible and a 2+2 coupe. This is the second to last year that Jaguar produced the E-type. The convertible used the longer-wheelbase 2+2 floor plan. It is easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. negotiable
