Stk. 1733 1965 Ford Mustang Only 562 Shelby Mustang GT350 automobiles were produced in 1965…meaning that if you were able to find one available for sale today, it would fetch enough money that you would certainly have to re-mortgage the farm to buy one. Originally available with a 271 horse, K-Code 289 V-8 and modified to produce an estimated 306 horsepower, this was a Pony car to be reckoned with. Even rarer was that out of those 562 original GT350 cars that left Ford's San Jose, California plant, only 283r less of those cars headed to the dealerships with the Le Mans dual stripe package across the entire top of the car. All GT 350 models left the San Jose factory in 1965 as a body in white car and on to Shelby's Venice Beach facility (and later the L.A. Airport facility) to receive its Wimbledon White paint scheme and Guardsman Blue rocker stripes. Our 1965 Mustang GT350 is, as you might imagine by the price and color scheme, a tribute car. GT350 cars would not be painted in any color other than Wimbledon White until 1966. Coming off a fresh restoration in 2011 and drenched with a fiery hue of Fire Coat Red with Wimbledon White Le Mans stripes, this Mustang positively glows. Underneath that familiar scooped hood you'll find its factory original 289 A-Code motor equipped with all the good go fast stuff like solid lifters, roller rockers and a free breathing exhaust that emits an authentic period style rumble that will put a smile on any true car lovers face. All 220 horses get corralled through its original, three-speed C4 automatic transmission with final delivery to a factory 3.00:1 rear end. Inside you'll find a crisp black standard vinyl interior with a crack free dash pad and full length console. From underneath the car you'll see that the correct oxide red undercarriage paint was used throughout for an authentic factory look on this solid rust free chassis. Power steering and brakes completes the package and helps turn this pony into a docile steed while cruising round the town or on the highway. Call or visit our website at for more information.
