2001 PANOZ ESPERANTE $37,995.00 Esperante means "Hope" or "Spirit". A fitting name for a vehicle with the soul to challenge the belief of what a sports car should be. The Panoz Esperante represents a paradigm shift in American Automotive development. A vehicle for enlightened enthusiasts - pure and simple. A timeless design…matched with world-class performance results in an American Sports car like no other. The Esperante was hand crafted in Atlanta, Georgia. Combining state-of-the-art technology, ground breaking materials and a proven powertrain. Hand assembled Ford SVT 4-cam, 32 valve, 90 degree V-8 with aluminum block & heads 4.6 liters/ 280cid (4,601 cc) 320 @ 6,000 rpm, coupled to a Tremec T45 5-speed gear box. Car and Driver magazine did a comparison road test and were very impressed. The Esperante standing start ¼ mile results were quicker than a Jaguar XKR and Porsche 911 Carrera, coming in at 13.7 and 104 mph. 0 to 60 was 4.9 seconds.
