The Windsor model line was a step forward in Chrysler's interpretation of the envelope bodied car. The plump fenders and scalloped hood mouldin lines were contrasted by a robust horizontally spanning front grille. Chrysler was earning a reputation for it's distinct designs and the pre-war Windsor was arguably one of the automaker's best. The interior was fitted with a handsome woodgrain dash and relatively generous interior space for passengers. In later years the Windsor would borrow some elements from the more upscale styling of the Town & Country, but loose some of it's character to the odd-looking “Harmonica' grille present on the post-war models. The Windsor shown here absolutely beams with vintage 1940's charm. Ivory paint and exterior chrome are in very good condition. Paint looks especially bright and clean. This car enjoyed a recent restoration complete with all-new upholstery work. The stock motor appears well maintained and this Windsor is a pleasure to drive. The woodgrain dash is the star of the interior, featuring loads of articulate chrome detail, gorgeous blonde wood trim, and gorgeous pearl-sheen veneer instrument gauges. Upholstery is like new with virtually no wear, and the material is a modern synthetic blend fabric that's far more durable than the original without compromising one bit of it's original look and feel. This is a fun mid-sized road cruiser that's perfect for the first-time buyer or the vintage Chrysler enthusiast. Youtube video available upon request.
