Investment grade Plymouth 'Cudas have been fetching serious money for years. It seems that when it comes to muscle cars there's just something about big engine square-jawed Mopars that turns grown men into star struck admirers. And while that's great for collectors and the few lucky owners who've managed to hang onto their old school E-Body for two or three decades it tends to leave most classic car enthusiasts out in the cold. Fortunately the term ''numbers matching'' and the word ''Hemi'' aren't the only indicators of this brand's market success. And if you're looking for a sweet piece of Detroit metal to show AND tear up the road in cars like this awesome 440-6/4-speed combo are just as cool and just as much fun! Is there a cooler Plymouth pigment than this Cuda's shockingly nice True Blue Metallic urethane? As one of the more subdued and enduring hues to come out of Chrysler's hip 1970s 'brighter is better' mindset this car's correct code GB5 blue is some of the smoothest paint to ever adorn classic Mopar metal. Naturally the relaxing color looks right at home highlighting this frame-up restored BS23V's laser-straight panels razor-sharp lines and rock-solid profile. When expertly applied under traditional black call-outs and buffed to a crystalline shine it becomes an absolutely fantastic reminder as to just how cool Detroit's golden era really was. And overall the car's high quality finish creates a glossy automotive masterpiece that simply oozes old school appeal! Unlike most dressed and decaled cars which tend to throw good taste out the window this awesome E-Body seamlessly balances a cool personality with flashy good looks. And thanks to its thorough restoration the car's crisp shut lines and excellent panel alignment present much better today than when it originally rolled off Dodge Main's assembly line. At the front of its broad shouldered body a stainless trimmed 1971-exclusive 'Cuda grille hangs four halogen headlights above a showroom fresh bumper and clear sculpted parking lamps. At the top of that grille a '''cuda 440-6'' branded fresh air hood props two stainless lanyards and a small ''PLYMOUTH'' script in front of like-new glass fresh stainless trim and True Blue sport mirrors. At the base of those mirrors satin-finish door handles and correct silver fender louvers ride above fresh marker lights dent-free rocker trim and a trademark Chrysler pentastar emblem. And behind that rocker trim a satin black valence hangs a cool '''cuda by PLYMOUTH'' emblem between a prominent decklid spoiler like-new tail lights a second chrome bumper and correct stainless exhaust tips. Lift this Plymouth's lightweight hood and you'll find a 440 cubic inch date-correct V8 that's fully rebuilt and ready to go. More popular than Chrysler's famed HEMI and almost as feared Plymouth's 390 horsepower 440 6 Barrel powerplant was designed to be the industry's best combination of comfort streetability and big block performance. Oxygen whips through the car's fresh air hood to three 2-barrel Holleys that are centered on a glossy Hemi Orange intake. At the front of that intake a familiar points distributor sequences fire into a fresh set of Chrysler Electronic Suppression wires. At the sides of that intake Hemi Orange valve covers perfectly contrast correctly restored exhaust manifolds. Cooling is supplied by a big 26 inch radiator that utilizes simple squeeze clamps and pliable Chrysler hoses to send water past fresh V-belts and rebuilt engine accessories. Power is provided by a tagged red cap battery which is wired to a correct Chrysler voltage regulator. And aesthetically the entire engine bay looks good from its new decals and True Blue Metallic fenders to its rebuilt horn and old school Chrysler washer tank. As expected this 'Cuda's fully sorted chassis is every bit as clean and straight forward as its solid exterior panels and clean engine bay. The high-winding Chrysler RB churns power through a rugged A833 18-spline 4-speed which spins a tough Dana 60 rear end and big 4.10 gears. Included in the restoration was a completely rebuilt suspension that thanks to factory manual steering helps the car hook up quick and perform great. Braking which is surprisingly competent for a 41 year old design comes courtesy of correct power front discs and heavy duty rear drums. Spent gases are escorted rearward by aluminized true-dual pipes that roar through deep turbo mufflers and fantastic resonators. At the corners restored 15 inch Rallye wheels spin fresh F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around satin trim rings and charcoal center caps. And aesthetically the bottom of this super cool Plymouth is cased and ready to roll with mildly undercoated floors framing a roster of proven drivetrain components. Swivel this Plymouth's solid-closing doors and you'll find a simple black interior that's functional straightforward and very livable. The front bucket and rear bench seats are covered in crack-free leather that displays hardly any signs of wear. Below those seats stain-free carpet anchors color-keyed and '''cuda'' branded floor mats next to a Hurst pistol grip shifter. At the sides of that carpet sculpted panels proudly hang the Cuda name above traditional window cranks integrated door handles and cool chrome lock latches. In front of those panels a clean black dash props fully rebuilt gauges above a correct Chrysler Solid State radio and a small Sunpro Super Tach. Above that dash a fresh headliner frames a fully functional courtesy lamp. In front of the driver an attractive wood-rimmed steering wheel mixes subtle form with major function. And behind the passengers a fully restored trunk props a correct decklid decal above a new mat and fresh Space-Saver spare. Thanks to its exceptional performance solid restoration and classic good looks this 'Cuda is poised to please even the most discerning muscle car enthusiast. Frame-up restored and fully sorted in every way you can drive it show it and take home a few trophies all for about half the price of a 'ropes and red carpet' Hemi.
