All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. Talk about a good looking Chevelle. This beautiful 1969 Malibu SS396 is in fantastic condition throughout and an excellent example of the breed. This two-owner car was restored seven years ago and needs nothing. This is a Baltimore car built in September 1969. Note the L on the cowl tag (associated with SS396 cars from BAL). The body and all panel gaps are nice and straight. The exterior has been redone in its original code 40 B scheme (Butternut Yellow / black vinyl top). The paint and top are excellent and of show quality, as are all trim pieces. The glass and rubber are excellent as well. I think the 5-spoke SS wheels with Firestone F70-14 Redline tires really add to the appearance. Note the correct SS396 bezels, grilles, parking lights, and badges. Under the hood is the 396ci engine backed by the floor shifted TH400 automatic transmission. The original motor could not be reused during restoration, but in its place is an ET-code 3916323 casting (1968 Chevelle SS396 TH400 application). The motor was rebuilt with an L34 350hp camshaft and is otherwise an original setup, complete with Quadrajet carburetor. Of course, as an SS it is equipped with power front disc brakes. Power steering is present as well. The interior has also been redone. It retains its original style 756 trim (black vinyl bucket seats) and standard instrument package. The carpeting and headliner are in excellent shape and the shoulder belts are in place. Everything works properly; headlights, indicator lights, turn signals, horn, wipers, AM/FM radio, heater, etc. Aside from looking great, this is an excellent driving car! It has a solid, high quality feel without all the squeaks and rattles that can plague these old cars. The engine has fantastic power, the steering is nice and tight, and the brakes are great. It really is a nice ride. The SS396 is one of the most popular of Chevelles. Beyond the muscle car looks, it is a roomy vehicle (the previous owner was 6'6") with great performance. And this is one of the nicest examples you'll find. Price: $31,000
