Stk. 1719 1966 Ford Galaxie Ltd "Bigger is better". That was the slogan back then in the sixties…and big is what this 1966 Galaxie LTD does best. Originally assembled in Norfolk, Virginia and shipped to a local Charlotte, North Carolina dealer, this three owner 47,438 mile example comes with the original bill of sale and MSRP sticker, along with other documentation…that leads us to believe that mileage to be true. In the engine bay, the original X code, 352 cubic inch motor has been changed in favor of more go-power with a stout 390. Rebuilt two years ago, and sporting a Holley carburetor and Edelbrock aluminum intake, allow this great F.E. to breathe easier. Bolted up to a three-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission and spinning 330 horsepower to a final drive of 3.00:1, makes for some good time highway cruising. In an effort to exploit this ultra straight, rust free body to a new level visually, the decision was made to paint it in (T code) Candy Apple Red, versus its original (M code) Wimbledon White. With period style Cragar mag wheels in gleaming chrome, they help compliment the car's exterior chrome and really deliver's in the coolness department. The original style burgundy "Cologne Vinyl" and "Shadow Stripe Cloth" bench seats were retained and redone two years ago, along with the rest of the restoration. In an effort to maintain modern comfort inside, a Sanden aftermarket a/c compressor and control system was installed. Underneath it all, power drum brakes at all corners gives you that authentic sixties feel with safe, sure stops, while unequal length A arms up front with a solid rear axle and trailing arms out back keep things smooth. So if you want a fun and reliable classic to wow all the Blue Oval boys at the local cruise-in…then man, this car has your name all over it. Call or visit our website at for more information.
