The Porsche 911 has to be the most recognizable sports car ever built and thanks to its incredible 50-year run the ability to mix-and-match components means that no 911 ever has to grow old. Take this 1975 911S for instance which offers an incredible Guards Red paint job body modifications that make it look quite up to date and a rebuilt drive train that runs and sounds awesome. This car was purchased in 1994 and the owner embarked on a take-no-prisoners restoration. The car was completely disassembled and the fresh Guards Red paint was applied to the bare metal shell in 1999. Today it still looks incredible with a shine and depth that are truly worthy of a high-end car like this. Along the way a few upgrades to the classic 911 were added including the air dam and whale tail spoiler from a Turbo the Euro headlights and taillights and even a center high-mount stop lamp just to further disguise its age. Hard to believe this car is nearly 40 years old isn't it? Show up driving this one today and folks will assume that you're a high roller simply because this car looks so clean and up-to-date. Workmanship was exemplary with the typical tight gaps and fit that you'd expect from Porsche and details like the rubber bumper pads and black window surrounds are in excellent condition. There's easily twice the asking price wrapped up in this car and it shows. The interior is standard 1975 Porsche 911 which is a good thing if you love the classics. Leather high-back buckets still look contemporary and are in excellent condition particularly considering their age with only some minor wear on the driver's seat that's entirely acceptable. The original 3-spoke steering wheel may reveal the car's age simply because there's no airbag but that also means that this 911 isn't burdened with heavy and cumbersome gear that wasn't needed in 1975. The classic instruments are all functional and laid out in traditional Porsche fashion with the tach in the center and the 5-speed shifter falls easily to hand for aggressive driving. New A/C with R134a refrigerant that blows ice cold plus an AM/FM/cassette stereo mean that you can drive it every day without feeling like you're giving up anything. The front trunk area features a strut tower brace to stiffen handling and full factory upholstery. The engine transaxle and suspension were rebuilt during the restoration several years ago all with about 15K miles clocked since then so this potent 911 runs every bit as great as it looks. Light up the 2.7 liter boxer six and it cackles with that distinctive Porsche sound and delivers impressive torque at just about any speed. The engine bay is clean and nicely detailed and the usual 911 issues have been resolved during the rebuild so it's as reliable as when it was new. The suspension manages to be both sporting and comfortable the brakes are immensely powerful and those 17-inch Turbo wheels look right because they're factory-issue and wear 215/45/17 Goodyears that look right. Fast affordable pedigreed fun this 911 delivers the excitement you'd expect and a fresh look that will remain timeless. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
