This wild NSX, which in stock form is a world-beating supercar, gets amped to 11 with a great Wings West body kit, a Rotrex supercharger under the Lexan engine lid, a custom interior and a $45,000+ bill for parts and labor! Start with the exterior. Formula Red is the most recognizable color for the NSX, and the paint here is in great shape. It's largely original beyond the body kit and necessary blend areas to get the color uniform. Starting at the front, the original bumper is enhanced with a Wings West lower air dam, and it's probably the best integrated one available. The side skirts add depth to an already sleek car, and the in-your-face wing adds to the JGTC vibe. The graphics are a polarizing item, but they're high quality vinyl and can stay or go at your command. The rear engine lid is now Lexan, and the scoop is there to funnel air towards the intercooler below. Fittipaldi wheels, 17x8 front and 18x8.5 out back, take the factory staggered look further. Hiding in plain sight behind those spokes are StopTech brakes front and rear. The big quad exhaust tips are from Billy Boat, while the exhaust is from MDM and the headers are from Cantrell Concepts. If you're guessing that none of the parts mentioned here are cheap, you're correct. Inside, there's a lot of red accents in what was once a rather dour black interior. There are painted accents on the center console and fresh leather on the seats and door panels. There are black widows embroidered into the headrests as a reminder of the car's potency. A dedication plate is on the glovebox door, there's a carbon fiber shift knob and cloth shift boot, and padded seat belt covers. A dual gauge pod sits on top with Auto Meter Cobalt series air/fuel and boost gauges. Otherwise, the excellent seating position, ergonomics, and Honda quality is original and intact. Under the engine lid is where the big changes happen. That huge top mounted intercooler is the first thing you see, but it's necessary to take advantage of the Rotrex Supercharger's boost without destroying the NSX's high compression mill. Mechanics Direct plotted the brackets and had them CNC machined just for this car, a theme continuing with the pulleys, piping and more. They handled the software upgrade, and the car runs great. Peak-to-peak, the car makes aronud 50 additional rear wheel horsepower, but more importantly it does so down low: The included dyno charts show that kind of power increase below 3500rpm, where 50 horsepower is a 50Ómprovement. The car still runs hard to redline, but it has more torque for coming out of corners. It's a great, flexible configuration, and it sounds amazing. Full disclosure: This car was stolen in the late 1990's. It was later found missing its seats and other minor trim. When that happens, a salvage title is issued. This car has never been hit, it's never been underwater, and it's never been apart. As with all of our cars we welcome any and all inspectors, and we're sure this one will pass any test you throw at it. This is Japan's first supercar, and Honda did it right.
