This car drives extremely well and does all the things you want a 1966 Mustang Convertible to do. It has had only three owners from new. There were a great number of original items on this car when we received it. For example, after inspection, I discovered the front fenders are the original fenders to the car. One of the fenders is date coded 8/12 and the other fender says 8/13. This means they were built on August 12th and 13th. I also noticed that the female latch assembly has a date code of 8/12. The rocker panels also have date codes which are 7/31 on the driver"s side and 7/31 passenger side. That date is July 31st. The car was actually built on August 30th according to the trim tag. I have taken pictures of the inside of the trunk for you so you can see how nice it is and also the area where the frame rail was attached from the underside. I even have the original top boot cover which is still in nice condition. I would like for you to notice how nice the Deluxe Pony interior is in the car. Please also note the new instrument bezel that we installed. We also replaced all the bulbs behind the dash while we had it out. The original AM radio does work and the A/C does not work although the compressor does engage. It could be just low on Freon. With my personal Convertible I always drive with the top down and therefore the air conditioning is not needed. That is the reason we did not even check the A/C out. Everything is still there on the car including the original A/C compressor. I went to considerable expense to have the entire evaporator face re-chromed and then repainted. We then installed new A/C vents and restored the shift bezel and the glove box door both inside and out. Please also notice how nice the engine compartment is and also how nice the trunk looks. This is not a perfect car that has been restored at a cost of $40,000 to $50,000 but is a car that you can drive and have some great fun. The paint on the car is not good and I am going to let whomever buys the car to paint it. I would drive the car right now as it is and have fun with it now. I had a K Code Fastback years ago that needed paint and I had a tremendous amount of fun with it in that I did have to worry about door dings or any other possible paint issues. This car has a DSO of 61 which is Dallas, Texas and has always been a nice southern car. I have also taken a picture for you of the original engine tag which I found on the intake manifold. As a result of this, I am very sure that this is the original engine that came with the car. The original 289 2 BBL motor has been upgraded with an aluminum intake made by Edelbrock and new Edelbrock carb. It really gives the engine that added zip that you would want with the car. Please note the very nice finned aluminum Cobra Valve covers and the MSD ignition system which fires the car off immediately. The way this car was equipped from the factory was with 289 V/8 with 2 BBL carb, power steering and power top plus deluxe spinner hubcaps and air conditioning. We believe the top is the original top on the car. That is a testimony on the condition of the car and how well it has been cared for over the years. The Pony Interior was added about 30 years ago but it still in fantastic condition. The previous owner just recently put on brand new tires so they are also in great shape. Please call me with any and all questions that you wish. Steve or <a href="mailto " Price: $19,980
