1-owner 1965 Shelby Cobra Re-Creation. Presented in eye-catching Red with White LeMans stripes and powered by a performance V8, this 1965 Shelby Cobra is built to recreate the look and feel the legendary Cobras of the 1960s -- minus the six-figure price tag. This Cobra was originally built in the early 2000s and has been owned by the same enthusiast for nearly 15 years. It has been very well maintained and cared for, and it has been driven a mere 16,600 since being built.This Cobra was originally powered by a 5.0L V8 engine that was plucked from a Ford Mustang, but that was deemed to be underpowered by this Cobra's only owner and was subsequently replaced by a 347ci Stroker V8. To add reliability to performance, the V8 was equipped with Edelbrock electronic fuel injection and features Motorcraft ignition, aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Ford Motorsports wiring, Cobra valve covers, a Granatelli performance cold air intake, ceramic coated shorty headers and earth-shaking side pipes. All in all, the engine develops approximately 400hp! Backing up the V8 is a rebuilt G-Force T5 5-speed manual transmission, and rack & pinion steering and a 4-wheel performance coilover suspension set-up provides confident handling.The fiberglass body is painted in eye-catching red with white LeMans stripes and sports quick jacks, wing windows, LeMans style fuel filler and a heavy duty chrome roll bar. The cockpit is outfitted with a Shelby wood rim steering wheel, vintage-style leather bucket seats, Simpson racing harnesses, quick-release chrome fire extinguisher, black carpeting and a repositioned gear shifter or for more comfortable shifting. The car rolls on Halibrand style wheels with performance BFGoodrich radials and disc brakes.Original build receipts and service records included.Well-appointed and a true performer, this 1965 Shelby Cobra re-creation is a head-turner where ever it goes.
