The Dodge Charger is the Dirty Harry of muscle cars. Packing serious firepower under a handsome no-nonsense exterior it's the one car that most other performance car owners tend to avoid on the street. This 1970 Charger definitely has that look: a musclebound brawler that doesn't need to do a lot of advertising to make its point especially with a built 440 under the hood. If the paint looks familiar that's because it's famous. Using the same Pepper Gray as used on the notorious Eleanor in the "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie this Charger takes on a whole new look. The squared-off bodywork with its exquisite curves and butch simulated vents on the front doors looks good in any color but this anthracite finish seems to give it a tough look that suits the Charger just fine. The paint job is a few years old but the fact that it is no longer perfect only means you'll be able to enjoy it without worrying about keeping bugs off it and with the blacked-out hood treatment bumblebee stripe on the tail and the ultra-cool wrap-around front bumper we think you'll love how it looks. And speaking of bumpers the chrome is in very good shape as is the black vinyl roof and the wide taillights have been blacked-out for a truly sinister look. The interior is a combination of new and original parts and dressed in black with high-back buckets it's as attractive as the exterior of the car. The seat covers dash pad and carpets are new so they look great and fit well without any of the fading that's common in cars of this vintage. The wood-rimmed steering wheel has a '60s performance look with an elegant twist and the flash of warm wood in the otherwise monochromatic interior really warms things up. The dash is augmented with a Tick-Tock-Tach and a quartet of modern gauges for the auxiliary functions all neatly integrated into the gauge panel for a clean look. Just to your right you'll find a B&M shifter for the TorqueFlite underneath and the car comes with a spare set of pedals including a clutch pedal in case you think a pistol-grip and a 4-speed are more to your liking. And unlike a lot of these cars someone actually took the time to give it a finished trunk with a reproduction mat and a space-saver spare. One glance under the hood and you'll know where the money was spent. The 440 cubic inch mill was rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago and still looks quite fresh with bright Hemi Orange paint on the block itself and cool finned Mopar Performance dress-up gear. An aluminum intake and a big 4-barrel carb give it that instantaneous torque for which these engines are famous and the long-tube headers certainly help in that regard. The 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission always seems to be in the right gear a sensation that's magnified by the 3.73 gears out back making this Charger a serious threat when the lights turn green. You'll also find some shiny suspension hardware a fresh Flowmaster dual exhaust system and a brand new gas tank. It isn't detailed for show but if you want a nasty driver this Charger certainly qualifies. The final touch is a set of black alloys that should look familiar to any Charger fan and they wear 235/70/15 BFG radials all around. The Charger is A-list muscle and the days of finding one of these at such an affordable price are coming to an end. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
