The W113s which include the 230 250 and 280SLs are some of Mercedes-Benz’s most successful products. Astutely recognizing the success of the moderately priced 2-seat 190SL Mercedes updated the package with a more modern chassis fuel injected six-cylinder engine and driver and passenger comfort amenities that set the standard for a half century of Mercedes-Benz 2-seaters. The 280SL was the culmination of the most pure significant and enjoyable early series of these important automobiles. Powered by a 180 horsepower engine with thoroughly developed and refined 4-wheel independent suspension the 280SL is still a handsome responsive comfortable and reliable personal luxury car over forty years after it was built. This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL exemplifies this fact perfectly. Fresh from a very thoroug documented restoration that was completed in 2013 it is finished in white and has a dark blue removable hardtop radial whitewall tires full hubcaps and a blue leather interior with blue carpets. The complete tool kit and owner’s manual are included and interior amenities include factory air conditioning the original radio and power steering. This example is also equipped with the four-speed automatic transmission and has a detailed file with service receipts dating back to 1974! The engine compartment of this car is pristinely detailed and as for the undercarriage it is just as impeccable as the rest of the car. It really is an exquisite car from top to bottom a fine example of one of Mercedes-Benz’s most beloved models. It is a practical reliable and beautiful classic that thanks to its recent and complete restoration presents and drives like a new car. Price: $129,500
