Highly customized and screen used in the movie “The Green Hornet'. This Chrysler, known as the Black Beauty, was modified to be a modern version of the Black Beauty used in the original 1960"s TV series The Green Hornet. This car served as both a hero and stunt car. After all the moving shots were filmed, they removed the car"s engine to make room for a special effects rig to film the famous scene of the machine guns popping out of the hood. Known as the “Kato Modified Version', the Volo Auto Museum purchased this car directly from Sony Pictures in “As Is' condition, which was rather rough and still missing an engine. The car was restored to ‘better than movie quality" condition. It is fully drivable and features all the “Kato Gadgets' including stationary machine guns. Some other features that are not easily visible but were added for movie use are a 4.30 geared Ford 9' rear end to brake the big tires loose and 4 wheel disc brakes for extra stopping power. Car is authenticated with title still in Sony"s name.
