This brilliant Madiera Maroon Chevelle is a real code 138 SS sport coupe and packs a correct 396 and a bunch of desirable options including factory A/C. Outfitted in 325 horsepower specs this is a potent A-body with a ton of style that's available for less than the restoration cost. Who cares if Butternut yellow is this car's original color when it looks this good wearing sophisticated Madiera Maroon? Combined with the big block under the hood it's pretty clear that the restorer had no intention of sneaking around anyway. Restored to a very high standard this SS hardtop is simply dazzling in person with super-straight bodywork that emphasizes the Chevelle's long rear quarters and unique C-pillar treatment that lasted only two years. Gaps are excellent all around and the paint is worlds better than even the best finish available in 1967 with a shine so deep you can almost swim in it. All the correct SS details are there too including the blacked-out tail panel black SS stripe on the flanks and the trick hood with simulated vents that were a Chevy trademark for years. Fresh chrome bumpers were installed all the stainless was polished to match and new badges and emblems were installed in the original locations. The code 763-B black bucket seats were restored to original condition as well with fresh foam and seat covers that replicate the original patterns exactly. The slick center console houses the shifter for the heavy-dutyTH400 3-speed automatic underneath as well as an optional clock. This car was clearly ordered for its luxury as well as performance since it includes such niceties as power windows A/C and a tilt wheel. All the original gauges are intact and fully functional augmented by a small cleverly-mounted tachometer off to the side where it's useful but not a dominant part of the dÃÂ©cor. New black carpets reproduction door panels and a taut headliner give it a showroom fresh look inside. The only other deviations from stock are an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit and that lovely wood-rimmed Chevy steering wheel. In the trunk you'll find a reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire assembly with jack. The car was restored a few years ago but the big date-code-correct 396 inch V8 still looks great with all the little details correct. If you wanted a Chevelle SS in 1967 you got this big block as standard equipment and the original buyer obviously liked his comfort to go along with the speed. It fires up with a snarl and idles in a way that lets you know there's plenty of horsepower working inside. Externally however it looks stock with Chevy Orange paint on the block chrome factory valve covers and proper decals on the factory air cleaner. The beefy TH400 spins a 12-bolt with 3.55s inside so it's a relaxed cruiser that can still embarrass a lot of cars at the stop light grand prix. The chassis is impressively clean and highly detailed featuring a huge dual exhaust system that sounds awesome. Classic chrome Cragar SS wheels wear fat 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear white-letter radials. You couldn't duplicate this car for the asking price and it's a fast reliable correct and highly-optioned SS that will win fans wherever it goes. Call now! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom. For more information please call or toll free . Price: $49,995
