Somehow with Chevelle and GTO prices skyrocketing Oldsmobiles have remained supremely affordable. What's even better is that they typically offer more features for the money and the Oldsmobile engines put out more torque than their siblings and offer better durability. If you're looking for a great A-body cruiser an ultra-clean Cutlass ragtop like this is a very smart choice. For something a different from your father's Oldsmobile dig this convertible's sizzling color combination. It's not original to the car (it was originally code 63 Saddle Bronze) but as its siblings have proved there's nothing that looks better than a bright red A-body. Reconstituted in two-stage urethane the red paint is a lot more exciting than the original even in 1972 and in a sea of bright blue and black A-bodies this one stands out. From the split grille up front to those artfully sculpted rear fenders it still has a sporty aggressive look but the shiny paint amps it up making this the perfect car for the guy who likes to generate some attention with his muscle. Fit and finish are quite good and it's nice to see that it hasn't been dressed up with stripes spoilers and scoops none of which were appropriate here. All the chrome and stainless is in excellent condition and against that bright red paint it definitely glitters. The white interior is definitely a popular choice but with the red paint it is absolutely the best possible option. Plan old black? Too hot. Tan? Too bland. No this white interior is fantastic. It's also in great condition and offers the original front bench seat and upholstery that may very well be original. Door panels carpets and the dash pad are all quite nice and the original gauges offer brushed stainless steel faces and bright indicators that are instantly recognizable as Oldsmobile. An AM/FM/CD/iPod radio has been fitted along with speakers throughout the interior a big Omega subwoofer in the trunk and an amplifier to power it all. In addition there are auxiliary gauges under the dash and a Grant steering wheel gives it a sporty feel that still looks pretty familiar. The Cutlass also manages to feel luxurious inside perhaps because of the power windows and A/C which distinguish this car from its lesser siblings. A white convertible top complete with glass rear window has been installed in the not-too-distant past and still looks good. Oldsmobile's Rocket 350 shared its displacement with the other GM intermediates but little else. Thanks to a high nickel content block Olds engines seem to be able to take a lot of abuse before giving up the ghost and with a few choice modifications they'll run with some pretty serious hardware. This one has been upgraded with an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system and you'll note that factory A/C is part of the package. A TH350 3-speed automatic drives the original 10-bolt rear end and even with the rumbling exhaust it offers that distinctive Oldsmobile soundtrack. The floors are uncoated so you know they have nothing to hide and the suspension is more athletic than you'd expect from an Olds so it really is a ton of fun to drive. Rolling stock appears to be flashy Buick road wheels with Olds centers wrapped with 235/60/15 BFG radials. So give an Olds a chance and you may be pleasantly surprised. For top-down fun this car has all the right ingredients. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom. For more information please call or toll free . Price: $24,995
