The one that is arguably credited for starting the Muscle Car craze, the 1964 Pontiac Lemans GTO! Although many power enthusiasts claim the real "muscle car" era started years prior, it was the lighter midsize chassis, sporty suspension, raw power, and out of the box performance that was the fresh appeal to buyers. The price wasn"t all that bad either, so many young and seasoned buyers found the new GTO easy to buy and already prepared to pound the pavement, so it became an instant success for Pontiac! This brilliantly prepared 1964 Pontiac GTO convertible is finished in factory correct A - Starlight Black over 214 - Black interior! The factory Ivory top was swapped for a black unit for appearance purposes. The paint application is simply spectacular and looks great in triple black with the top up and even better with the top down and the boot cover affixed! In addition to a factory correct 1964 76XW 389ci Tri-power car with an M20 4-Speed Manual transmission, PHS documentation supports the car came factory equipped with a host of options including: Pushbutton radio, under hood lamp, dual speed wipers and windshield washer, padded dash, visor vanity mirror, inside tilt mirror, remote trunk release, tachometer, back-up lights, luggage lamp, glove box lamp, ash tray and lighter lamp, parking brake lamp, power steering, door edge guards, full Soft-Ray tinted glass, spare tire cover, console, left-hand outside mirror, custom front seat belts and front and rear floor mats. In addition, the car has received a custom wood sports steering wheel, exhaust splitters, 7.5 x 14 US Royal Safety 800 redline tires and 1964-specific custom wheel discs! PHS documentation indicates that this car was originally delivered in the Pittsburg, PN zone. This goat is currently showing 53,032 miles, which we believe to be original but have no way of verifying. This completely restored example is very presentable and is begging to be taken out and driven! There are few things that look better than a good coat of black paint and this car certainly can vouch for that. The new interior shows virtually no wear whatsoever, with shiny bezels and clear instrument glass. Under hood appearance is top notch, with new reservoirs that show no signs of yellowing and a beautiful trio of Rochester carburetors. The car runs and drives as good as it looks and with a 3.23 Safe-T-Track rear end, we wouldn"t hesitate to take this car to local and regional meets and shows. The car presents a very drivable yet investment grade GTO that is sure to please the next owner. Please don"t hesitate to ask any additional questions or schedule a viewing. Thanks for looking! Price: $69,900
