Dodge introduced the Challenger in 1970 as a top-of-the-line Mopar entry in the muscle car race. Built on the Chrysler E platform shared with the popular Plymouth Barracuda, the Challenger had a two-inch longer wheelbase, completely different sheet metal and a more luxurious interior. The first year is widely regarded as the best year in terms of both design and power output -- and this 1970 Dodge Challenger is one of the finest, best documented restorations we have seen. Clad in Hemi Orange with a black vinyl roof, the paint quality is excellent. The car underwent a bare metal rotisserie restoration and the result is a better finish than when it rolled off the assembly line. Panels and gaps are excellent (and easily exceed factory specs). Bumpers, trim, chrome, grille, emblems, glass and rubber have been restored to an equally high standard. The undercarriage looks nearly as good as the topside and it's also very nicely detailed in the engine compartment. The interior is finished with all new door panels, carpet, seat upholstery, headliner and dash pad. Gauges are original and clear; newer stereo in dash works. Under the hood is a 340 cubic inch V8 with a four barrel carb; the engine was rebuilt at the same time the car was restored and only has a few hundred miles on it. The engine bay is pristine, just like the rest of the car. It runs and drives beautifully thanks to power steering and an automatic transmission. We have included a few photos of the restoration here -- however, we have an entire photo album documenting the process from start to finish. For more information about this meticulously restored, show-quality 1970 Dodge Challenger available at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call . Price: $42,900
