Chevelle enthusiasts are typically divided into a few camps: some prefer the mid 60's square body design while many others maintain the 70-72 years are the golden era. However there is another group out there who really prefer the 69 with its unique one-year-only looks. Relatively rare in comparison it can be tough to find a well-sorted specimen but this one is ready-to-roll. Currently owned by a retired mechanic it has enjoyed numerous upgrades over the last few months including a rebuilt transmission a freshened engine new set of tires and lots and lots of TLC that you'll have to drive and experience yourself to truly appreciate. Lime Green Metallic looks better on the 1969 Chevelle than almost anything else. It lifts the design beyond mere transportation and gives it an upscale look that complements the handsome trim and tidy proportions. Miraculously it remains a standard Chevelle not an SS clone but that does nothing to dilute the handsome good looks of any 1969 Chevelle ragtop. Panel alignment and door gaps are quite good and the black tape stripe that runs the length of the car gives it a sleek look that proves you don't need SS stripes to have a great-looking A-body. The paint was done some years ago so it has a few signs of age but you'll still be proud to show up in this convertible at the local cruise night and the color hides imperfections quite well. The bumpers were re-chromed the stainless trim polished and even the original grille remains in outstanding condition thanks to a lifetime of easy living. This car simply looks great. Not being an SS doesn't mean the interior isn't a performance-oriented place to do business. With buckets and a console it has a very sporty demeanor that's perfectly appropriate for the Chevelle and all of it remains in excellent condition. The wood-rimmed steering wheel warms up the all-black upholstery while the horseshoe shifter is easy to grab and is a trademark of late-60s GM A-bodies. Two auxiliary gauges augment the factory setup giving you a full view of the engine's goings-on and a newer AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit is fitted in the original radio's location with speakers throughout the interior. A great-fitting black top with crystal clear rear window raises and lowers itself with a touch of a switch under the steering column and one glance in the trunk will prove to you the level of car this one has received and yes that's a brand-new spare tire on a fresh Rally wheel. The rumbling 307 cubic inch V8 now wears a few traditional upgrades but as a small block Chevy you know it runs right and sounds great. Back in February of 2013 it received an all-new top end including an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor along with a set of long-tube headers and a fresh Flowmaster dual exhaust system so you know it's a great runner. Chrome valve covers and matching air cleaner add a bit of flash for when you want to open the hood at the next cruise night and there are shiny billet pulleys up front. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission makes every drive a pleasure and it was also rebuilt back in January and carries a nationwide warranty so you can cruise without a care. Classic Rally wheels and brand-new 225/70/15 BFG radials give it just the right look. A nice vintage ragtop with a lot going for it you can enjoy this open-air V8 Chevelle for just pennies on the dollar compared to a big block SS. Call today!
