With the muscle car segment well under way, all manufacturers were offering horsepower in a variety of engine choices. For Chevrolet, the average consumer could choose from three big block increments starting with the base L35/325 horsepower, then the optional L34/350 horsepower, and finally the 4-bolt main, solid-lifter L78/375 horsepower as their largest offering! All of these optioned required the RPO 25 option- Super Sport Package. This gave standard features such as a 12-bolt rear axle, 5-spoke wheels, wheel well lip molding, drip rail moldings, special suspension, SS hood, blacked out grill & tail panel, and power disc front brakes! We are very pleased to offer this sharply restored 1969 Chevelle SS396 Convertible clone finished in Tuxedo Black with matching Black convertible top and bucket seat interior. Under the hood of this example lies a 1969 date-code correct, big block 396ci V8 engine (code JQ) mated to a Turbo-Hyrdamatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end! All while staying detailed & dressed as a factory-appointed Super Sport 396ci V8 of the period. Additional options include factory air conditioning, power front disc brakes, power steering, buckets seats with center console, Super Sport instrumentation with in-dash tachometer, F41 competition suspension, 14' SS wheels wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires, tilt steering column, Comfort-grip steering wheel, and pushbutton AM/FM radio! Using a solid condition, factory 1969 Chevelle Malibu Convertible, John Evans Restorations fully photo documented this build from start to finish! Having represented and sold past Evans cars, we know from experience they are built right with expert preparation of the body first. For this car, he elected to use new rear quarter panels, door skins, front fenders, new SS style hood, and trunk lid to ensure everything was of equal quality and would fit perfectly when looking at all gaps and seams. All body panels & components were treated to expert preparation that included two coats of poly primer (inside & out), multi-stage block sanded, re-primed a second time, blocked again it two increasing grits, fully sealed, then received its final top coat in a PPG base coat/ clear coat application before being color sanded and polished to a mirror-like finish! It looks absolutely amazing from all angles! The trunk was also refinished in spatter paint and fitted with a new trunk mat. With the forward chassis prepped & painted, it was fitted with all new OEM brake lines, master cylinder, booster, & all new front brakes at the wheels; GM coolant hoses with tower clamps; detailed engine compartment with correct stickers; heavy duty clutch fan, chrome dress up components, new front end suspension components, wheels, trim rings, caps, & radial white letter tires, entire exhaust system with chrome tips, and more! With all new seating upholstery & door panels; engine, dash, and rear wiring harnesses; convertible top, all body weather stripping, new chrome bumpers, door handles, exterior mirror, wheel lip moldings, stainless trim & SS badging, it"s truly as much a stunning show car as it is a very competent driver! Included with the car are a CD of the restoration photos and receipts of all new parts ordered. With the vehicle completed in March 2014, it truly has not seen any significant road use yet this year. It will certainly impress any show-goer and driver enthusiast alike. We invite questions or calls to arrange a personal inspection of this fine automobile. We look forward to working with you! Price: $59,900
