This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is a very highly optioned example with a four-barrel 312 cubic inch V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows and air conditioning. Clad in Colonial White with a red and white interior, it's a very attractive older restoration that has held up well. A few flaws are starting to show in the paint -- a spider web the size of a quarter on the hood, a few cracks around the gas cap -- but no rust bubbles. The flaws are too small to capture in a photo; the car overall shows to very nice driver standard but is shy of concours quality. Panels are very straight and solid with good gaps and the underside has no known rust issues; rockers, floor pans, spare tire well, etc. are in very good condition. The interior is also in nice driver condition; door panels, carpet, dash and seat upholstery were likely replaced at some point in the last decade. The dash is in good shape and all gauges, switches, lights and indicators are working with the exception of the clock. A tasteful underdash a/c unit was fitted during the restoration. The factory-supplied hard top (including the headliner) is in excellent condition, and a brand new canvas folding soft top stows neatly behind the bench seat. The soft top has never been used and still has the paper backing over the rear window. While we do not have a documented rebuild history on the engine, it runs beautifully -- judging by its appearance and performance, we expect that it was fully rebuilt when the car was restored and has seen relatively low mileage since. It starts reliably on the first try; steering and brakes feel great. It's a pleasure to drive. In short, this is a well-sorted, turn-key example with great options and great colors.
