So you're wanting a classic but you want it with just a few custom touches? Stock trim clean paint and a nice restoration are a must. An upgraded cabin some timeless wheels and a custom top are game changers and when you factor in big block power it's an irresistible package! Rarely do you find a car that looks equally good as both a hardtop and a convertible but you get that with the '61 Fords. This Sunliner is a great car with the top down long and low enough to seemingly stretch for miles. The wide wide grille is in great shape and is very striking with its floating headlamps. Chrome bumpers are industrial strength compliment the sheetmetal and have a great shine. Cool emblems are on nearly every panel and look great; from the fender peak trim to the turbine shaped taillights you're going to love this car. Inside there's a great mix of new and old. The seats are original but they're covered in custom two-tone beige upholstery. The primary material is a classic light tan while the inserts are darker perforated leather. The door panels are awesome: the upper halves match the seats' vertical pleating but they're all modern from the center down. The armrests are one-off pieces and the street rod influence is obvious in the contoured leather and map pockets at the bottom. The detail follows around to the rear side panels and the rear bench ties the pattern together. Far more obvious is the hand-built center console with a trick "arch" armrest. There's now a place for a modern stereo floor ducts for the climate control and bright floodlights for the foot wells. The rest of the dash is original but that's no bad thing thanks to Ford's stock aesthetics. The convertible top is a year old and works as a great contrast to the black body. Under the hood is the correct Z-code 390 cubic inch "Thunderbird" V8. It's a smooth and powerful mill and the second in the line of great FE engines. The valve covers and air cleaner look great in silver against the black compartment. A Classic Power Products master cylinder and brake booster are a TON safer than the original pieces and they're about the only change from stock in here. New hoses belts and tune up parts mean you're road trip ready. This car's a runner and the frame is clean with new steering and suspension pieces. The sheetmetal is clean and ready to go with no issues to report. A newer dual exhaust system has the right amount of rumble for a convertible...you can't be too loud when you're cruising! A 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission sends power back to the original 9-inch rear with highway-friendly gears inside. The final custom touch is the chrome wheel set with "moon" style hubcaps and 215/70R15 whitewalls. They're a great addition to any Galaxie of this vintage. Clean and sharp this big Galaixe deftly straddles the line between custom and stock. Great looking and better driving this car won't last. Call today!
