This phantom 1939 Ford 2-door coupe is a very trick bit of custom engineering. Instantly recognizable as a 1939 Standard tudor there's not a single panel that would interchange with an original. With a paint job that's sure to get it noticed and a supercharged LS1 under the pointed hood this is your next cross-country cruiser ready to rock. Professionally built (with about $160k invested) this incredible rod shows incredible attention to detail and impeccable fit and finish. Of course the bodywork is fiberglass (from Coast to Coast) so that made it easy to get the gaps so good and the panels so flat but they took their time getting every surface smooth and shiny before Lexus Silver and Black paint went on. It has a wonderful deep shine that really works with the bright chrome and polished aluminum details and the silver paint works well to draw out body lines like the sweeping beltline moldings that duck in behind the rear fenders and the flowing fastback deck lid. A raked-back windshield and re-shaped C-pillars give it a unique profile but there's no mistaking those teardrop headlights that were one of the slickest designs of the late-30s. A shiny chrome grille neat hood inserts that actually serve to vent heat and correct 1939 Ford taillights add interest that you'll spend hours admiring. Black ostrich skin leather adorns the very high-tech looking interior. Forget 1939 styling this car goes with state-of-the-art in the 21st century starting with those supportive custom buckets and a fully appointed back seat. A sweeping dashboard that blends into the door panels has been painted to match the body and contrasts with the leather like the body does with the fenders for a very unique effect. Simple handsome Dolphin instruments spread out in front of the driver in their own billet panel along with vents for the A/C syste and there's a custom sound system with a Kenwood CD player down low and an infotainment center with back-up camera display in the middle of the dash. And despite its compact dimensions there's a cavernous cargo bay complete with stainless rub strips that look very professional so grab your gear and head out on the road. A 2001 Corvette donated its LS1 V8 which was topped by a polished Magnuson blower that builds torque like a steam engine. It's a tight fit in the pointy Ford's engine bay but it works thanks to a custom intake and billet accessory drive system all of which was shined up for show duty. It's backed by a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission and a Ford 9-inch with 3.73 gears out back for the ultimate in reliability. The chassis is of course completely fabricated with a custom A-arm front suspension and leaf springs in back plus Baer disc brakes at all four corners. The professional workmanship is visible in every little detail from the custom Flowmaster exhaust system to the color-matched frame and the stance is to die for. Polished American Racing Torque Thrusts measure 18 inches up front and 20 inches in back and wear low-profile performance rubber. Pro-built rods aren't cheap to construct so this one represents something of a bargain. State-of-the-art in rodding yet still totally streetable how cool is that? Call today!
