A nice car that will be fun to cruise in. It was a very solid car when we personally restored and started on it with only a few minor rust areas that we fixed with metal. We did a complete repaint in the factory black and is a nice job, I would consider it excellent driver quality and could be shown. NEW PARTS- interior was redone including carpet, door panels, seats and new aluminum trim, Mechanically rebuilt carburetor, fixed the AC, replaced the neutral safety switch and worked on the brakes, fuel pump, oil pressure switch, coil, points, rebuilt transmission, and new gaskets in the motor. It is a 390 V8, 4 barrel carburetor, Automatic trans, Power steering and power brakes. As you can see it does not have the factory hubcaps but chrome moons. It does have the rear fender skirts. This is a very presentable car with the biggest issues being the Chrome trim and bumpers showing some age including pitting, minor damage and scratches and the dash having some cracking around the speaker cover. This car is a very presentable driver and you would have lots of fun crusin or showing it. We have over 80 pictures including pictures from before we restored it so you can see it is a very solid car. Go to to see the rest of the thunderbird pictures. Here is some history on the "Bullet Birds" The 1961 Ford Thunderbird marked the first year of the third-generation Thunderbirds, and they were nicknamed the "Bullet Birds, " due to their sharp nose and appearance. According to Automotive Mileposts, there were 73, 041 Thunderbirds produced for 1961. The only available drive-train for the 1961 Thunderbird was a 300-horsepower, 390-cubic-inch V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Despite the high horsepower output, the heavy engine prevented the Thunderbird from being speedy, with a zero-to-60 time of 10.5 seconds, according to Motor Trend. According to Car Session, the 1961 Thunderbird had a height of 52.5 inches, a width of 76.5 inches, a length of 205 inches and a wheelbase of 113 inches. The '61 T-Bird was not a light car, with a weight of 4, 195 pounds. Swing away wheel was an option in 61 and became standard for 62 and 63. Fender skirts were option for all cars. Options were power window, power drivers seat. Power breaks were standard. The 62 and 61 seats are the same, the 63 had a small badge on the front seats. I tried to show all the defects in the pictures but if you need anymore info email or call me . We are a family owned business since 1987. We are very low pressure and the main thing we care about is selling you a vehicle you like . That is why we have a like or return it policy, call for details. Another benefit is that you are dealing with the owners not a salesman, We personally drive and work on most of our vehicles so I can answer any question you need. It is currently in a climate controlled storage building as you can see by the pictures. Price: $14,900
