1937 BENTLEY 4.1/4 LITRE FREESTONE & WEBB RAZOR-EDGE CLOSE COUPLED BROUGHAM SALOON #B131KU SILVER/BLACK, BLACK LEATHER. 77,000 MILES. $195000 1937 BENTLEY 4&1/4 FREESTONE AND WEBB RAZOR-EDGE CLOSE COUPLED BROUGHAM SALOON #B131KU. (Stock #3529.) From 1936 through 1939, Bentley built a delightful series of cars on the 4&1/4 litre chassis. 1,234 examples of these cars were built in all body styles and were supplied to a myriad of coachbuilders. One of the most highly regarded specialty coachbuilders was an English firm, Freestone and Webb. They were responsible for designing this particular car for the 1937 London Motor Show where it was on display on the Bentley stand. They designed this gorgeous close-coupled saloon with fabulous razor-edge styling which flows beautifully from front to rear and incorporates many delightful styling cues. The final execution is finished in black with silver-grey side panels and driver-side spare wheel. The interior is in original black leather with beautifully executed polished walnut cabin trim and most unusual polished aluminum facia. U.S. ownership history of this car is traced through a series of Rolls-Royce Owner"s Club members: Ted and Jacquie Mintz in the 1960"s and 1970"s, Sam Ornstein in the1980"s and early 1990"s and Peter Walsh from 1991 and through 2009. In 2010 at 77,016 miles, it was time for B131KU to receive a mechanical overhaul, including a full engine rebuild, then performed by marque specialists at a cost of $60,815 (receipts present). This great car is now ready for showing and/or touring. 77,059 miles. $210,000. Price: $195,000
