The Auburn Automobile Company is a marque synonymous with American Classic Cars. Best known for their iconic Boattail Speedster, Auburn nearly ceased business in 1924 due to lackluster sales despite their acclaim for performance. Industrialist E.L. Cord bought out the company with investment capital and quickly steering Auburn back to profits. Cord ordered the plant to refinish it's inventory of unsold bodies in a wide range of brighter and more colorful paint schemes. Not only were these new Auburns more colorful, they were also an incredible value. The Auburn Touring Car was the least expensive eight cylinder model in the country in 1925 - just under $1,900.  1930 followed the previous year and record sales for the Eight Cylinder Auburns. The Boattail had set performance records for speed and endurance while maintaining it's fiercely competitive pricing in the luxury car market. Only a handful of cars in Automotive History would achieve this seemingly paradoxical feat. Auburn bolstered it's other modes with their versatile eight cylinder motors, including their dashing Cabriolet platform, offered as models 8-95 and 8-125.  Featured here is the rarer of the two Cabriolet models known as the 8-95F Cabriolet. Equipped with premium options, including dual sidemounts, Trippe lamps, Trunk, and the distinguishing Golf  Club Hatch, this model makes a bold impression with it's handsome two-tone Black and Toga Maroon paint, artfully complemented with a sweeping cowl and hood reveal and decorative beltline mouldings. A roomy two-place cockpit surrounds it's occupants in a well-maintained black leatherette interior. Engine compartment is neat and orderly, showing very good enamel paint and detail. The Auburn data plate is present with proper numbers for continuity. Overall, this Cabriolet presents very well on a 30 year old restoration. The aged lacquer paint has some cracks ands chips. A wonderful opportunity to own a fine example from one of the Legends of the American Classic Car Pantheon.   Youtube video available upon request.   Call our classic car division at for video and/or vehicle information., Canvas Folding Top, Dual Sidemount Spares, Canvas Sidemount Covers, Dual Sidemount Mirrors, Windshield Wipers, Heater, Cowl Lamps, Trippe Safety Lamps, Rumble Seat, Knock-Off Wire Wheels, Wide Whitewall Tires, Golf Club Hatch Price: $74,700
