Stk. 1798 1954 Buick Century It is not everyday that you see an automobile like this 1954 Buick Century Tour Back Sedan. It is becoming even rarer to find one that has spanned the course of fifty-nine years with only two owners. This Buick's first owner was the proverbial little old lady you always hear about... although when she purchased it new in 1954, she was most certainly a vibrant young lady with discriminating taste. Over the 36 years she owned the Buick it was garage kept and only 28,400 miles had passed under its rust free chassis. When she passed away, our consignor purchased the car from her son and has driven it since to its current 38,288 mile status. With the exception of a single repaint in its original Casino Beige and Arctic White paint scheme 2 years ago, new carpet front and rear and a professional engine rebuild at 35,600 miles (2004) the rest of the interior, trunk and driveline are all original to the car. And it is most impressive. Under its broad hood rests the original and beautifully detailed, 322 ci Fire Ball V-8; often referred to as a "Nail Head" engine in Buick aficionado circles due to the upright mounting of its overhead valve train. It also still retains its original 12 volt generator system and snorkel style air filter housing. With 200 horses on tap, the now famous Twin-Turbine Dynaflow 2-Spd transmission directs that power via a torque tube style drive shaft to a final drive of 3.6:1 rear end. The current owner has driven it numerous times on the open road at 70 mph and had no problems keeping up with traffic. The rest of the driveline, steering and brakes work superbly. The interior is amazingly comfortable with its green cloth and vinyl bench seats. The dashboard has a curious blend of aircraft style control levers that although simple in function, give it a very sophisticated air about it. The Sonomatic AM radio still delivers a sweet vintage sound that truly takes you back to a simpler time. Outside the familiar Venti-Ports are present and still look factory fresh as does all the stainless steel trim, chrome grille and bumpers. The cavernous trunk comes complete with a full size spare, jack and plenty of room for multiple pieces of luggage. These Buicks were touted in 1954 as "The Beautiful Buy" because of all that you received for the money. We couldn't agree more. Call or visit our website at for more information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS". Price: $12,995
