1941 was a busy year for Packard including construction of a new high volume factory to build Rolls-Royce Merlin aircraft engines tooling up for the new Clipper series introduced mid-year and preparations for a myriad new war production projects and orders that would soon overwhelm automobile production for the duration. It was remarkable within the fast-paced evolution that Packard managed to make substantial styling changes for 1941 as well as rebalance its lineup but the 1941 Packards had a number of new design features principally including headlights faired into the front fenders a dramatic new grille treatment with dummy grilles set below the front fender catwalks and 15 inch wheels that lowered the cars and led to the elimination of running boards as standard features. This 1941 Packard One-Ten Convertible Coupe is a wonderful example of the year in an older restoration that presents well and will be a marvelous car for tours or weekend driving. Powered by Packards 100 horsepower 245 cubic inch L-head six with three-speed column shift transmission it is equipped with a radio heater clock donut chaser hood ornament fender side chrome trim wide whitewall radial tires and coachlined steel wheels with hubcaps and trim rings. The first owner specified the optional running boards a rarely seen feature that adds to this cars appeal. It is finished in metallic maroon with maroon and tan leather upholstery and a tan cloth top and boot cover. At $1195 new it was a great value in 1941 and it still is today. $52,500 ,, Advertiser Since 1990
