1977 Citroen 2CV AKS400: Great condition., The 2CV Camionette/Fourgonnette (Truckette in English speaking countries) was manufactured between 1951 and 1977. It was a commercial version of Citroen's 2CV. The vans were sized as such: AK250 is the small box, AK350 is extended in length, and the AKS400 is extended in both length and height. Very few - if any - 2CV vans were imported by Citroen to North America., 1977 was the last year for the 2CV van, and it was this year that featured both side windows and three-point seat belts as standard equipment. This particular delivery truck is the AKS400 which is probably the most desirable 2CV van for daily driving. It has the largest engine offered in the vans and also has the largest carrying capacity of all versions - 400kg's. It even returns 35 to 40 miles per gallon in normal use., This panel truck has been restored to a wonderful condition. It has a galvanised frame (no worries about rust) and is equipped with the 602cc engine (29 HP, wow!), disc brake gearbox (LHM fluid), and electronic ignition (123 system - no worries about points). The engine and gearbox have less than 25,000 kilometres on them since being rebuilt. It is fitted with 135/15 tyres. The seats are finished in a grey vinyl and are easily removed for extra space in the truck, or for using as lawn chairs. Adding to the style; the van is fitted with its original French registration plates and the obligatory yellow headlamps., The truckette is not fast (top speed 60 to 70 MPH depending on wind and grade), but she will run flat-out all day as these two-cylinder boxer engines were designed to do. Also by design, the 2CV's are extremely reliable and simple to maintain. This particular example has been used as daily transportation as a locksmith delivery van for the past few years in Maryland and Virginia as well as making a couple of trips to Saratoga Springs for the Citroen Rendezvous (2009 and 2011)., The van is in very good condition; it is complete and needs nothing for its next owner and it has just been through Virginia state inspection. Normally it would be stated that all accessories and options are functional, but as this vehicle is about as bare-bones as they come: there are no accessories!, While many Citroens - and other private imports - have used older registrations to allow importation into the US, this vehicle's title and paperwork actually matches the precice year of manufacture., Finished in white and ready to be lettered for your bakery, florist, restaurant, etc. This truck is quite the eye-catcher and conversation piece; goes great with a bottle of wine and a baguette.,, $15,900 obo
